last week, I was invited by eastasy.com to do a review on the Japanese-dominant spa: Whoo Spa, which is formerly known as OHui Spa. this spa is known to be popular even amongst celebrities and it uses only the finest Korean products available in the market! if you’re planning a relaxing trip to Seoul, why not consider getting yourself a pampering session at a local spa?
[Taipei: Da’an] MUME (Asia’s TOP 50 Restaurants)
for my belated birthday celebration, we came to MUME, a casual European fine dining restaurant. this restaurant is humble yet under-rated as most of the fame goes to the contemporary and stylish RAW. I read online and MUME was often deemed to be better than RAW at most occasions. however, I cannot be certain until I try RAW for myself. MUME was actually recommended by my boyfriends boss who’s friends with the HK chef here. the chefs of this place have an impressive portfolio as they worked in famous restaurants like Eleven Madison Park (US), Quay (Aus) and even Noma (Denmark), which was four times world’s best restaurant!

[Taiwan: Taipei] Grand Mayfull Hotel REVIEW
if you follow me on instagram, you’d know that I recently went to Taipei for a short getaway. the thing I was looking forward to the most was spending time with my boyfriend whom I’m in a long distance relationship with. and I think choosing a comfortable place where we can spend quality time together is crucial. coincidentally, I was invited by Grand Mayfull Hotel to review their hotel and it got me all excited! I went through their website and I was IMPRESSED. however, you’d never know how great it is until you’ve experience it first hand. hence here’s my review! (I am an honest person plus I wasn’t paid so you may rely on my comments!)
note that because I was brought on a hotel tour, this post is very complete and long. if you are considering on which hotels to stay and wants to have a look at the different rooms and amenities, or just simply love hotels, you’re at the right place!

[HK: Central] Sing Heung Yuen Tomato Noodles
there aren’t many dai-pai-dong’s left in Hong Kong but Sing Heung Yuen is actually one of the very few that still exists until today! so what is a daipaidong? it literally means big board stall. but it really mean open air stalls where you can sit by the road side and dine like an old school local.

[Seoul: Gwanghwamun] Spicy Eel 공평동 꼼장어
recently discovered this place while walking around Gwanghwamun in search for a good restaurant and uh.. well, this place has the highest rating in a Korean foodie app so I thought I’d give it a try. they mainly sell eel, but they also sell many other things like mini octopuses, pork, chicken feet, pig’s skin, huge prawns… but most of them are spicy. the best dish there’s the eel so you don’t have to consider anything else if you’re visiting for the first time haha. [Kyoto] Hisago’s Oyakodon
well this picture’s quite the irony, because the main dish oyakodon isn’t in the picture. but scroll down to see it! well, it isn’t as picture perfect, but it tastes HEAVENLY.
[HK] TOP 5 Scenic Hikes in Hong Kong
so after living in Hong Kong for close to three months during the entire fall, I found my new love: hiking.
I realized that the Hong Kongers really enjoy hiking only after this trip. hiking wouldn’t have even had crossed my mind as a(n Asian) tourist. the past 4 times I’ve been in HK, I cannot think of anything else other than shopping, eating and the occasional drinking/clubbing. this time, to get me healthy, my boyfriend suggested we hike. and my oh my, I thought HK is a concrete jungle; but it is only partly true. little did I know, it has its nature well preserved too!
while there are a whole lot of trails, I would like to list 5 of the hikes I think has the best views in HK!
