[Seoul: Banpo] Rainbow Fountain

if you ask me, I’d not recommend anybody who does not have extra time to spend to come here because.. it’s really nothing much.

unless you’re going there with your other half, then it might be quite romantic walking along Hangang river while watching the pretty rainbow fountain.

being here for over a year, it was my first time there.  I guess I was expecting it to be spectacular but it was well, just pretty.

Directions : Dongjak Station (Seoul Subway Line 4), Exit 1 or 2.

the bridge is really long. I always come by Banpo bridge when I take the bus without knowing that this long bridge is THE Banpo bridge. other than the fountain, I actually liked the reflections on the water more. Continue reading “[Seoul: Banpo] Rainbow Fountain”

Spring like Summer.

Korea’s Spring is….. well, almost non existence. it is so bloody hot.

the moment it started getting warmer… oh wait, the moment it just suddenly got hot, the flowers all bloom and they weren’t very pretty this year because of the constant hot and cold. and now it is completely hot.

it’s only like 25-28degrees in the day while it’s 34degrees in Malaysia but it feels SO MUCH HOTTER here. almost like hell. your sweat will be oozing out from your pores and even if you do not move, you’d sweat. apparently some Malaysians who came here for their holidays told me that it’s pretty much the same in Malaysia but I refuse to believe so. it is DEFINITELY MUCH HOTTER HERE. their humidity is so crazy that molds are starting to grow in my room. no joke. and there’s no water inside my room.

My 21st Birthday!

or 22 in Korean age.

finally I can enter Zouk without worrying if they’ll check my IC. oh well, not like I will be able to go to Zouk anytime soon. at least now I can go to the Casino too. basically everywhere in Malaysia. I heard there are bars which only people over age of 30 could enter in Japan and there are clubs in Korea which doesn’t allow people over 30 hahaha.

but seriously, shit I feel so old T______T. I don’t exactly feel like I am 21 yet. I am still such a kiddo. super childish =S.

on my birthday, it’s actually the “chukje/festival” week for my school so nobody was free. like NOBODY. but thank goodness I had Kenji to spend it with =3.

MT!

MT stands for Membership Training. don’t know why but oh well. we get “trained” to drink here, to cut things short.

IMG_1831 copy

most MT’s are held at 대성리 Daeseongri. be it people from Yonsei, SNU, Korea U, Sogang, they alllllll come here. the staple place for all Korean MT’s. located near Chuncheon. the rent of a “hall” for a night would cost around 300k I heard. for a place so secluded and without much facilities, heck that’s expensive! [Seoul: Sungkyunkwan] Cherry Blossoms

Spring is finally here and so are exams. Korea have this thing against students being able to go out during the peak of both spring and autumn. it’s simply just atrocious. how can they do that to me pfft. but as you can see, nothing can exactly stop me from admiring these pretty spring buds. except I didn’t have any time to go to Yoeuido this time. not that I enjoyed it the last time actually. I thought it was too crowded and the only 1 sided cherry blossoms were mehhh. but I found another destination which is called Ansan near where I’m staying but again, NOT ENOUGH TIME! I will go there this weekend despite having tonnes of homework (during exam week. I know right?) RAWR! here’s a korean blog with the pictures of Ansan : http://blog.daum.net/miso3923/148

so how was it? enjoyed it? well I doubt this year would be this nice because of the weird weather T_T. it is hot and cold. sigh. so cherry blossoms bloom at like complete different times. it’s supposed to well, bloom last week around Friday. if I go this weekend it would probably be bald T_T. sigh. I will just give it a shot anyway since it is known that in Ansan, cherry blossoms bloom late. I actually went there about 10 days ago and they were just budding =S.

anyway back to topic, here’s some spring/cherry blossom pictures taken at my school! =D.

welcome to ahem the BUSINESS SCHOOL! business buildings are always the prettiest =3. well mainly because they get the most funding. =D. Continue reading “[Seoul: Sungkyunkwan] Cherry Blossoms”

Korean Indian Curry? (CLOSED)

Korean Curry?

had a lot of them, in fact. my boarding house cooks it every week.

Indian Curry?

well, I am from Malaysia. =D.

Korean Indian Curry? now that’s a fusion. if the shop isn’t operated by Indians and their shop is labelled as an “Indian Curry” shop. be prepared to try the weirdest curry of all the weirdest curry. the Korean Indian Curry.

went to this shop I’d always walked pass in Hongdae. it’s next to that scary comedy theater. it’s called “DELHI”. if you’re facing Hongik University, go to your left and walk straight and you will see it on the left hand side of the road.

IMG_1578 copy

finally paid this famous (I think, judging that every time I walk pass, it’s pretty filled.) a visit and to my surprise, it is actually not bad! I wouldn’t say it is cheap food but it is IN budget. and definitely cheaper compared to the authentic Indian Curry restaurants here in Seoul. Continue reading “Korean Indian Curry? (CLOSED)”

Spring Is Here!

it is SPRING TIME!

but like what everybody here’s condemning about, the weather in Seoul IS weird. to be honest. it was pretty hot even two weeks ago. it was like 22 degrees in the day. and you know what? it snow-rained on Thursday. it wasn’t that cold but snowing almost in the middle of April? that’s ridiculous.

it is currently around 1-10degrees from a few days ago till now.

IMG_2045 copy

read the weather forecast that today’s a nice sunny day so I brought my camera to school. but it was awkward taking pictures because now I am no longer.. a tourist anymore. I will take more pictures of Sungkyunkwan University when I get more comfortable and when the Cherry Blossom Trees blooms (excuses!). Continue reading “Spring Is Here!”

[Seoul: Sinchon] Cafe Container : Patbingsu Tower

so a few days ago Wai Kit sent me a picture of this tower patbingsu and asked me if I was interested. I’ve known about this oreo patbingsu for a long time since I often walk pass it. but little did I know, their oreo patbingsu is incredulously tall.

IMG_2024 copy

the location is rather easy to find. it’s on that road from U-plex (Sinchon) towards Megabox (Edae). for foreigners it might be a little tricky. but just get off at Sinchon (line 2 green line) and take the the U-plex (complex exit and you will see the red mirror tube thingy) exit. cross over to the other side of the road (you will see Etude House on the other side of the road.). you should see Krispy Kreme, Look Optical and Olive young on your side of the road as you walk. just walk straight!!!!!!!!!!! about 5 minutes walk. just keep on your side of the road.
