Sunway University : March Open Day

For this generation, it’s really very difficult to secure a job with just an SPM cert and sometimes, even a diploma cert. in fact, having a degree would be quite a challenge too! One of the ways to overcome this problem would be by attending a good Uni. Telling your future employers which university trained you does make a huge impact on most employers.

As I’ve always recommended, one of the finest in Malaysia is Sunway. Their degree programmes are validated by Lancaster University, UK! And for you who’ve just taken your SPM not too long ago (note that over RM80million worth of scholarships are awarded through the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation!), Sunway will be having Sunway Education Info Day that you might really want to take some time to drop by the campus.  It’ll be happening TWICE. [Seoul: Hongdae] Toms Cat Cafe

honestly, I am not a big fan of cats. in fact, I am quite scared of them. especially the evil looking ones pfft. but since Jian (akiraceo a.k.a Miao) is very fond of cats I thought I would come here just blog to show him how the cat cafes here look like (there are more than 3 that I know of).

we wanted to find the Gio Cat Cafe but unfortunately we got lost and stumbled upon Tom Cat Cafe (which is located opposite ARTBOX Hongdae =)). there’s also a Garfield mascot in the middle of Sinchon Rotary (at the huge crossroad) that advertises for some Cat Cafe as well. The Korean Army.

just 2 days ago I went all the way up North (less than 100km away from North Korea) to visit one of my childhood Korean friend who’s in the army right now. the National Service here takes about 22months to complete and all I know is that it’s really a daunting task for even macho men. but only after you’ve completed the army, you’re a true man here.

they say that it makes all women and men fair by women having to give birth and men having to go to the army here. hahahaha.

found a way to transform my cutesy hairband into a hippie bandana =D. Continue reading “The Korean Army.”

I’VE ARRIVED IN KOREA!

just in case you’re not a follower of my blog, I am now in Korea for my language studies.

the plane landed 5minutes earlier but then the immigration was taking such a long time so I missed the last bus to take to my friends place (they usually have bus till late for places like Myeongdong). I sneaked 8kg (oh well laptop doesn’t count as a baggage for AirAsiaX apparently) and my shoulders are aching even until now T____________T. 3 baggage handcarry and 3 checked in. if I were to total everything up it would be more than 50kg. no kidding. but I’m here for my studies! no choice. the other choices would be expensive. I have a friend’s friend whose bag is so heavy she brought her mom with her so that she can have extra weight and it’s cheaper like that haha.

The Authentic Japanese Restaurant, Sumi-Ka @ SS15

IMG_6172

located at the more quiet side of SS15, Subang Jaya, it’s actually pretty close to the colleges around. weird how it isn’t that known or noticeable arond. but to my surprise, you need to BOOK before you get there because it’s always filled. judging from how most of the shops around barely have 10% of their tables filled. Farewell Week.

there’s less than 100 hours left. and each day it seems like my heart is pounding even more. it might be normal for some of my friends who have been living abroad without their famiy since they’re young but as for me, I’ve never actually really washed my own clothes with a washing machine. or iron a pile of clothes. eventhough I can cook, it’s not like I need my cooking skills there because I’ll be living in a homestay where food is already nicely prepared and all I have to do is wait for it.
