Yonsei’s Winter Sonata II

we all love our teacher a lot and we wanted to give her a memorable last day with us. so we gathered and made her a cake (decorating it only, actually.) and she was really touched =3. she went around boasting it to other teachers it was so funny hahaha. Continue reading “Yonsei’s Winter Sonata II”

Yonsei’s Winter Sonata I

these pictures are from the 2nd last day of school. where we were already feeling blue. we left school and headed for a really nice Chinese restaurant (and bloody ex T_____T) for our class gathering. but before that we took the long road to the restaurant and hence passed by the beautiful park from the language school to the main gate.

it was my first time seeing snow. and to be honest I was very amazed by how beautiful it is. gobsmacked that it wasn’t as cold as usual too. Continue reading “Yonsei’s Winter Sonata I”

IT IS SNOWING HERE!

I’ve always thought about what to do when it snows…

should I make a snow angel

should I participate in a snow fight

should I get a boyfriend just to feel like I am in the movies

but no. none of these. because when it really did snow today, all I want to do is just look at it. it’s so beautiful. it’s the first (heavy) snow I’ve ever seen. it feels so amazing. even though I have been slipping and falling hurting my knees and hands from all those unnoticeable ice on the floor. it’s just so slippery and I have no proper shoes to accommodate the weather. I need new shoes =S. now I get why people say living in a 4 season country is expensive. it’s true. sigh especially winter clothes they are madness. but that’s not the point of this post. just want to show you how pretty it is!

we were in the middle of a lecture (pansori, the most boring traditional story song ever to listen to but fun learning it) and came out during out 10 minutes break time because we were already admiring the snow from the inside. and that is my cute Japanese classmate, Megumi! [Seoul: Busan] Madame Tussauds Busan

because my parents weren’t too into waxed figures when we were in HK so she told me “you will definitely come back here with your friends and you can visit it then”. but instead of HK, I came to the one in Busan. there’s one in Jeju too I think.

IMG_4767 copy

it just opened not too long ago when I went so I went in with a discounted price! Continue reading “[Seoul: Busan] Madame Tussauds Busan”

Seoul International Fireworks Festival

the annual fireworks festival was held on 6th of October this year. and was for a good long 1 hour something. there were breaks in between each set from various countries though.

IMG_5740 copy

the best place to view it? the Hangang park in front of 63 building. you pretty much get off at Yeoinara station but we took the bus there instead. it starts at 7 something. Continue reading “Seoul International Fireworks Festival”

SBS Inkigayo! SBS 인기가요!

2012년11월25일

I was lucky enough to get my tickets for Inkigayo (famous for being super difficult to get. but because this time they give priority to tourists that’s why I got it.) thanks to KTO (Korea Tourism Organization). lucky I applied from 2 different sites at least I got one U_U. it starts at 3something but I was there since 1pm. and to my surprise, I live only 10 minutes away from the CJ Entertainment and SBS building by bus.

they are really systematic. you gotta even line up according to your ticket number. Continue reading “SBS Inkigayo! SBS 인기가요!”

[Seoul: Hongdae] Hongdae Ddeokbokki 홍대떡볶이

thought I should let you travellers know what’s famous here and what’s not. so if you ever go to Hongdae, walk all the way pass SangSangMadang (the butterfly-like building), cross the road and you’ll see this shop.

IMG_6154 copy

you can either sit inside or stand outside to eat =D. I prefer standing as it don’t make me feel as fat =X. Continue reading “[Seoul: Hongdae] Hongdae Ddeokbokki 홍대떡볶이”

PSY’s FREE Concert

although I am a little late, I would still like to tell you about my experience.

it was held in City Hall on early October filled with what I heard 700,000people. I just wanted to be a part of this historical day, so I went even though late. at 9pm. it was as expected, super packed. and I was hamburgered all the way there until I finally settled a spot maybe 150meters away from the stage.

[Seoul: Hongdae] Kongbul! 콩불!

Kongbul is one of the cheapest food around which tastes absolutely awesome. if you like spicy food that is. because bul means fire. which means it’s going to be realllllll spicy. and kong means beans but for this shop it actually means bean sprout. hate bean sprouts? well, that isn’t an excuse because I used to hate it too. until I tried the goodness of Kongbul.

IMG_6667 copy

it’s actually a chain store so it’s not weird to run into one anywhere. so far I know that there’s one in Sinchon, Edae, Hongdae (picture) and Myeongdong. I’ve seen it before at many other places but couldn’t recall. and even in Busan and Anyang! this shop is everywhere I tell you. every tourist friendly shopping area I guess. and they all look the same. same design. Continue reading “[Seoul: Hongdae] Kongbul! 콩불!”

[Seoul: Seodaemun] Seodaemun Prison of History and Culture

being the touristy me again I decided to visit this scary tourist spot. built by the Japanese to imprison Koreans who were involved politically to protest the Japanese like 60 years ago.

IMG_3766 copy

just get off at Seodaemun Station and you will eventually find your way to the Prison with the help of Korea’s convenient signs. (in english too!) Continue reading “[Seoul: Seodaemun] Seodaemun Prison of History and Culture”
