okay. don’t get all excited there. chill.

sorry to break the news but, it isn’t exactly a Malaysian shop. more like a Japanese shop. but the thing is, they made the calamari so Malaysian style. it’s almost exactly the same on how Malaysians would make it. so you poor students in Seoul who misses Malaysian food, you can release your longings here =D.

just look up the directions on google maps with it’s geometrical location : 37.558225,126.934752

the shops name is 털보고된이 (생선구이).

[Seoul: Noryangjin] Noryangjin Market 노량진 수산시장

I felt that a trip to Seoul isn’t complete without dropping by Noryangjin. so here’s my post telling you why you SHOULD visit it. Noryangjin is a Seafood Market near Yoeuido. just take the subway to Noryangjin and keep heading towards the Market. there are plenty of signs.

but in case you get lost, I think I should tell you that you should go OUTSIDE and find the overhead bridge that links the train station to the Market. (links to a Parking lot actually but there are plenty of signs!) this time I went I ended up in another station. their stations are pretty complex I guess. but in case you end up at this underground (non-open air) station, just walk outside or ask someone for Noryangjin Sijang. but I had no problem haha since I recognized the place. the first time I went there, however, I was on the right track =D.

[Seoul] Cafe Pascucci

initially, I thought that Cafe Pascucci is just another boring cafe or maybe a replica of Starbucks. but to my surprise, it has a huge variety of drinks and not everything is caffeinated!

My Korean Pension Experience.

don’t get it wrong. I don’t mean the monthly income one gets for working for the government.

PENSIONS are very famous in Korea. they are like.. vacation houses people would rent just for a night or two to have fun in. usually very well facilitated. they provide things like shampoo, soap, hair dryer and toothpaste in the washroom and plenty of plates, cutleries, knives, etc. in the kitchen.

but that is not all. they had an awesome floor heating system and as well as a huge flatscreen tv.

I think it was just because it was US, they even gave us plenty of food, junks and even a soap giftbox! this is called “service” in Korea. which literally means free stuff =3. if you frequent a shop or if the owner or worker like you, they would give you service! [Seoul] PATBINGSU!

so, what do you call the shaved ice you see people eating in dramas?

patbingsu.

pat = red bean
bingsu = shaved ice.

my friend was telling me how awesome this shop is and how different it is compared to other shops. it’s located at Sinchon near the Jjambbong shop I wrote earlier. it’s exterior is in light brown wood and usually filled with people. corner shop so it’s easy to spot =3. will eat there again and this time take more pictures but just so you know how awesome these patbingsu’s are in Korea, here’s a post for you. hehe.

[Seoul: Sinchon] CM’s Box to end my crave for Pasta. (CLOSED)

when it comes to Pasta. I am a glutton. I had once eaten 7 bowls of pasta. that only applies to Bolognese though. I can never seem to eat more than 1 portion of Carbonara.

so Mr. Mun once brought me to this awesome (and famous apparently) place that serves pasta during lunch but it was so full and there were so many people waiting AND I was very hungry we just went ahead to settle our tummies at Hans Deli (Korean Italian fastfood shop. not bad. pretty cheap too! best of all, they have tabasco too <3.). but I decided to come back to the shop to try it since it’s always so full.

[Seoul: Edae] Kopitiam (CLOSED)

my eyes almost popped out when I saw a KOPITIAM in Edae. my friend told me that there is a Kopitiam nearby but I didn’t thought that the name itself was Kopitiam haha. it’s specialty is Kaya Toast. and apparently, from Singapore.

visiting the army boy again.

this time we went without his family and for the purpose of only visiting him instead of getting him OUT of the camp. haha. also, this time I had a THOROUGH Korean Army Camp tour! =D.

this shop seems like a famous shop with all its TV interviews and all. they are priced reasonably too! apparently, jjambbong is a Koreanfied Chinese food. which me, a Chinese, have never heard of. haha. but it’s basically ramyun (not the instant noodles type. the REAL ramyun) cooked with seafood soup. why you should eat Baskin Robbins in Korea.

their number of chains here are madness. you will SURELY stumble across Baskin Robbins if you were to be in Seoul for a few days. SURELY. around my area, there’s already 3. and all of it is usually packed with people even in such a weather.

Baskin Robbins? mehhhh. I had it in Malaysia and it wasn’t really my cup of tea. it was so super sweet and I can’t help but to feel guilty every time I had it. the only few times I had Baskin Robbins in KL was probably just because it had a promotion and I’d opt for the choco flavour as sweet choco isn’t so bad.

as for here, originally I thought it’s going to be like everything else, being more expensive than KL. but to my surprise, it’s actually CHEAPER than KL! everyone here come in either pairs or a group. pairs would order..
