[Tokyo: Shinjuku] THE LOCK UP

good thing about having a friend your age overseas is that they know all the cool hang out spots and also, the most special places.

I was very keen on wanting to look for perhaps some maid cafe or a place with those sort of cutesy decoration. but my friend, Sherlyn had a better idea because those are pretty old school now. so she then asked me, would you like to dine in a haunted jail??

and that’s where we went hunting for the cafe. Shinjuku is pretty big and complex and getting there would probably be a problem if you don’t know the place well. because.. Continue reading “[Tokyo: Shinjuku] THE LOCK UP”

first time waxxxing!

for a girl as conservative as myself, (yes I probably don’t look like it T_T) I actually found it difficult to like, perhaps expose myself to others. going to the sauna in Korea naked was the most daring thing I did. but as soon as I stripped, the bathing place closed. so. well. D=.
I had no knowledge on waxing because I’ve always portrayed it to be a “painful” experience. and the worst is, if you wax the more “shyshy” areas you’d probably feel awkward. Mandy asked me if I would like to try it a while ago and I thought, why not? I’ll have to grow up someday. *sniff*

WAXXX.me, located at the Aman Suria’s shoplots (alliance bank on the left side, a few shops away) sure does have many car parks available. it wasn’t difficult to find as it’s actually facing the main road! Continue reading “first time waxxxing!”

S.O.X. Hoops @ MABA, KL.

WOOHOO!! I went to S.O.X. Hoops All-Stars last week and it was a blast. and guess what? it wasn’t even the finals. 4 teams were picked and I have to say, it’s like watching football. you’d naturally have a team to root for. and a thing about shooting basketball games is that it’s pretty tough as the lighting in the stadium ain’t exactly too bright for photographers to catch those swift players on the go. quite a challenge I have to say. so whoever who wanna train their skills or get some experience, the finals is coming end of this month and it’s the perfect event to attend to.

[Tokyo: Tsukiji] Tsukiji Fish Market

well, not exactly INSIDE the market but it was those lanes of shops outside it. to my horror, it was closed on the day I went T_T. (LIKE WHY ON THAT DAY OUT OF ALLLL DAYS.) so do not repeat my mistake. DO NOT GO ON WEDNESDAYS. =(. I remember I checked before going and I thought it was closed on Tues. OH WELL. =(.

according to my friend living in Japan, he said that the famous tuna fish auction is limited everyday and you’ll have to get there at 5am in order to witness it. heck. 5am? what am I going to do after that? fish shopping? =S. but it’s alright because other than the inner market, you can stroll around the outer market even at 9am =D. I was actually very determined to try out Sushi Dai. BUT IT WASN’T OPEN TOO. =(. the other branch outside doesn’t open so early either. =/.

but even so, I actually had a better view of the stalls OUTSIDE the Tsukiji market area where I guess that probably most foreigners would rush into Tsukiji market and neglect the beauty of the stalls outside. this set of pictures would really be one of my favourite even though it wasn’t inside Tsukiji market. and surprisingly, there were actually many japs fish shopping there! =D.

[Seoul] Namsan Hanok Village VS Bukchon Hanok Village

from my 3 months worth of research on WHERE TO GO in Korea, I wanted to visit a historical place, and then I found out about Namsangol Hanok Village 남산골한옥마을 or just Namsan Hanok Village; the more commercialized Hanok village located in the heart of Seoul. but as I searched, I found out that Bukchon Hanok Village 복촌한옥마을, also the place where “Personal Taste” was filmed (yes with Lee Minho in it! <3) , is such a gem. located nearby to each other (near as in taxi trip near), I’ve decided to save time and only go to one. I picked Bukchon.

we got off at Anguk  station안국역 as directed (Anguk Station, Exit 2, walk 300m straight. do not ask for directions they will lead you somewhere else D=.) from the website and got lost =(. we then asked the locals and they recommended us to take a cab (do note that I have a Korean friend with me to do the asking =D) because it’s pretty far. we then got off at Namsan Hanok Village. I think it is because it’s much more commercialized and they thought us tourists were talking about Namsan’s one as they probably didn’t catch our words clearly D=.

since we were first timers, we didn’t know and went in straight to find that it’s actually Namsan Hanok Village! but because we paid the expensive taxi fare already(only take a cab if you have no choice, or have no time!) we did not want to waste it so we went in for a slight stroll! =D.

the parking lot. it was late November and there weren’t many autumn trees left. and there were abundant here! hence the picture. =D. Continue reading “[Seoul] Namsan Hanok Village VS Bukchon Hanok Village”
