when I blogged about Cheonggyecheon (could be found on my Travel page), I was told that this place is exceptionally beautiful at night too. and I have to say, it really is. I was lucky to be here right on the lantern festival too! there are many festivals in a year and Cheonggyecheon will always be prettily decorated on those special occasions =D. I guess you could check out the KTO website for the list of events. =D.

[Seoul: Gwanghwamun] King Sejong’s Museum

one spot that’s not very well advertised on the “visit Korea” site but is very near numerous famous spots like Gyeongbokgung (which is near to Samcheongdong which is alsooooooo near to Insadong andddddd Changgyeonggung/Changdeokgung) and the King Sejong statue right in front of Gyeongbokgung. in fact, it’s RIGHT at the statue.

[Seoul: Hongdae] Trick Eye Museum

BEHOLD MY 83 PICTURE POST! because I tried my best to show you MOST of what’s inside. but if I am not wrong they change certain stuff from time to time so it wouldn’t ALWAYS be the same. I’m just guessing it judging that there are new posters outside wrapped with see through plastic.

been wanting to come here but I kept forgetting until a reader told me to visit it and so I did!

this place would probably take around 2 hours if you would like to take a lot of pictures. I think a tripod is unnecessary since there are plenty of people inside and also workers to help you take pictures. the downside of it would be the PRICE. it costs 13,000won. that’s quite expensive to me but oh well..

if you know where is Hongik University then all problems are settled. say, you are from the subway and you wanna walk to Hongik Univ., you will definitely pass by that crowded and popular Hongdae street. spot for Tony Moly and Holika Holika and walk IN BETWEEN that road. and you’ll see it. if not. click here, set to full size then scroll to the bottom. [Seoul: Sinchon] The Back Alleys of Sinchon

when it comes to travelling most people would just pick the easy way out on going through the main and popular road. but little did they know, that treasures are kept inside. there are quite a few interesting back alleys of Sinchon and here’s a little bit of it.

[Seoul: Insadong] Korean Traditional Tea

Insadong is known for being Korea’s traditional district and you’d see shops like Starbucks for example in Korean words instead of English because they think that by having everything Korean, it’s sustains the traditional feel of Insadong. I personally love going to Insadong despite the crowd of foreigners especially the route from Insadong to Samcheongdong. it’s just my favourite.

[Seoul: Samcheongdong] the 2nd best place in Seoul 서울서 둘째로 잘하는 집

that’s the name of the dessert/tea shop.

since 1976, the 2nd best place in Seoul is still as popular and you’d find it full almost everytime.

[Seoul: Namdaemun] Namdaemun Market 남대문 시장

initially, I planned to visit Dongdaemun. but I ended up in Namdaemun because Mr.Mun told me Dongdaemun’s boring. took his advice and here I was in Namdaemun. I thought that it would be like Petaling Street but it’s much more than that. instead of a whole load of imitation bags, it was almost like a wholesale market of everything. of course, since it’s a tourist spot as well they do not do everything wholesale.

got off the bus and saw these really adorable 잉어빵 (ing-eo-bbang) which are red bean stuffed cake (?) shaped like a fish. normally they are pretty big but these are really tiny haha. [Seoul: Sinchon] Homilpat Patbingsu

Patbingsu or Red Bean Shaved Iced, is the most popular dessert in Korea. even if it’s cold, people still eat it. but some places however, do not serve patbingsu’s on winter. well, it’s already freeeeezing cold haha. but still. Homilpat 호밀팥 is one of a kind. and is always filled.

okay. don’t get all excited there. chill.

sorry to break the news but, it isn’t exactly a Malaysian shop. more like a Japanese shop. but the thing is, they made the calamari so Malaysian style. it’s almost exactly the same on how Malaysians would make it. so you poor students in Seoul who misses Malaysian food, you can release your longings here =D.

the shops name is 털보고된이 (생선구이).

[Seoul: Noryangjin] Noryangjin Market 노량진 수산시장

I felt that a trip to Seoul isn’t complete without dropping by Noryangjin. so here’s my post telling you why you SHOULD visit it. Noryangjin is a Seafood Market near Yoeuido. just take the subway to Noryangjin and keep heading towards the Market. there are plenty of signs.

but in case you get lost, I think I should tell you that you should go OUTSIDE and find the overhead bridge that links the train station to the Market. (links to a Parking lot actually but there are plenty of signs!) this time I went I ended up in another station. their stations are pretty complex I guess. but in case you end up at this underground (non-open air) station, just walk outside or ask someone for Noryangjin Sijang. but I had no problem haha since I recognized the place. the first time I went there, however, I was on the right track =D.
