IMG_2914

these liquid paper drawings are drawn on most glass in Seoul and it looks absolutely fabulous. except for I doubt it is actually even liquid paper.

IMG_2910

to go to Namsan Tower, you’d probably only have two ways. to get there by cable car or directly go up there by car. but, you can always put hiking as your third choice. kekeke.

to get to Namsan Cable Car 남산 케이블카 (about 7000won for a return) you’d have to get out of Myeong Dong station exit 3 and walk towards the path to Pacific Hotel. there is two paths. pick the one on the right and walk straight, turn right and you’ll see it. we didn’t know it was so near and took the taxi. PFFT. wasted 15bux. we found the way from walking down haha.

IMG_3391

there, you’d find these two adorable human sized bears. <3.

IMG_3344 copy

and also the tower. it’s not exactly a good idea to visit in the morning. the sun would be directly behind. and look at the difference between the pro and the beginner. =P. I stood at the same spot he did. T_T.

IMG_3108

a single girl conquers the couple bench. well you see, the bench is slanted to the middle, making couples err, fall to each other?  sitting closer. this is the best bench to sit on if you wanna get closer to a girl hehe.

and those behind me? those are locks. thousands and thousands of locks. and the consistency of the number of locks is mad. there was like, 50meters of fence filled with locks.

IMG_3130 copy

click on the picture to view it’s full size.

this is my view from the bench. haha. very pretty, no? this was my phone’s wallpaper for a month!

IMG_3068

I think EVERY young couple in Korea would have a pair of lock here. it is said that if you lock your locks together here your love will last forever.

honestly, I want one here too when I have a boyfriend.

IMG_3092

and this is how the locks will look like after a few years. you’d not recognize which is yours. hahaha.

IMG_3072

and there are plenty of creative locks. =D.

I thought that the pose was a little awkward. hahahaha.

IMG_3044

the famous korean… gazebo? you’d see this in MANY MANY MANY dramas. it’s so popular. and when I was there, there was a funny uncle doing weird exercises on the benches inside. as in, him laying on the bench, moving his legs up and down @_@. not a common thing to be seen here.

IMG_3419

camwhore on the bench in the korean gazebo!

and next, the Teddy Museum

IMG_3183

the Teddy Bear Museum is pretty nice, great effort. but the entrance fare is a litttttttttttle expensive. 8000won for adults. that’s about RM24. cheaper if you’re a teen (teen means 19 ‘Korean’ years and below. 18 year olds are 19 in Korea.)

IMG_3187

what seemed like Sung Kyun Kwan to me.

but what I liked about it is that it’s actually explaining Korea’s history and how it bloomed until today. there were even those famous streets and all with modern teddy’s on it!

IMG_3281

and there are quite a few of these cute stuff. ahhahaha.

IMG_3283

to my surprise, the first teddy wasn’t exactly… cute. @___@.

IMG_3409

visit on late autumn, you’d get these. I absolutely love the weather when I was there. =D. though it rained on the first day I was there. but that was when I was already in bed.

DSC03067

my mom with a bunch of korean teens! taken by her Sony Camera.

the top deck filled with locks has the LOWER deck now. and with trees! I really wonder how they hung the locks on the TOP of the trees.

DSC03093

and my mom found this amusing. =O.

I did that too. yeap, on skirt. =X.

IMG_3048

for N Seoul Tower, I’ll mark it as a.. MUST VISIT!

Noryangjin Fish Market

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

it was a beautiful autumn day and the skies were so blue.

IMG_2055

the proof. so early in the morning at about 9am, we took the train to Noryangjin 노량진 station. we wanted to visit this place like about 7 in the morning and later on go to the 63 building. but the thing is, don’t try to be superman because you’d really need some sleep after walking so much everyday. I’ve done some research before and I happen to think I’d prefer looking at fishes rather than going up 63 floors for a nice view.

and oh, about the weather in late November, it’s pretty cold. difficult to survive without gloves. my shorts are just for display. my stockings are probably one cm thick (and it looked completely like those thin ones right?! the person who created this was so smart. they wrap the thick stocking with a thin one so it’ll look like you’re superwoman wth). and I was wearing another shirt inside my pink top. who knows how did those Japanese girls managed to survive with mini skirt and absolutely no stocking when it is snowing. I learned my mistake from wearing the thin stockings on the first day when it seemed warm in the afternoon and suddenly bloody cold at night.

IMG_2061

upon exit, you’d see this bridge with the sign leading you to the Fish Market. very convinient.

IMG_2075

I’ve always been very amazed by these bridge above railway tracks kinda thing. you can only see these in Japan, Taiwan and Korea. usually see these in Jap Dramas. and it’s really.. nice. I mean, it’s nothing much, but it’s pretty in it’s own special way.

IMG_2082

I wanted to get my mom to take more pictures for me and she went like (==”) and walked as fast as she could because she think it’s just some boring fences. T_T. so I camwhored HAHAH.

*kononnya my hair so brown wth. thank you sunlight.*

IMG_2070

these were sold on the bridge. flowers and chestnuts! what a combination haha.

IMG_2084

GUESS WHAT THESE ARE!! GUESS GUESS GUESS!!!!

I might not need these. but guys, especially the shorter ones.. they do. these are hidden heels. it’s to make guys taller haha. I am not sure about the price. but it shouldn’t be too expensive if it’s selling on the streets? wanna be an inch or two taller? get these. =P.

seriously, those giraffe shoes selling here are way to over priced.

IMG_2094

vege on the.. staircase @_@.

IMG_2095

TADA!!! finally, after perhaps a 3minute walk, you’d arrive to the FISH MARKET!!!

so clean, so neat, so many!

IMG_2144

please bring some extra cash and buy some raw fish and eat them (raw, cooked or seasoned) at the restaurants behind the shops. they’d lead you. =D.

IMG_2125

NOT cheap. absolutely NOT cheap. but well, they are prawns! the ones in the pasar here is slightly more expensive hahaha.

IMG_2122

HAVE YOU SEEN SUCH A FLAT OCTOPUS HEAD BEFORE! and especially, SO HUGE!

and you gotta scroll down a few pictures to see something even more amazing.

IMG_2147 copy

okay, I must confess, these people here are great in doing business, you’d got to give them some business anyhow, really. but also, if you love photography and want to capture nice pictures slowly. BE PREPARED to get scolded. some of them are nice. GREAT customer service.

BUT SOME… they’d scold you. you will not be able to understand it on the bright side. but when I was there, there was this woman who said “don’t keep taking pictures and when you are not buying anything!” in a sharp, fierce tone. but well, they will probably ONLY say it in Korean.

and after that, I snapped as I walk. so my pictures weren’t that good. I shall have thicker skin next time T_T.

IMG_2151

and seriously, WHAT ARE THESE?! I asked Peter and he didn’t know what these were too. they look like the Horny Mushrooms from Maple Story wth.

IMG_2173

TADA!! LOOK AT ZE TANTACLES. AIN’T IT CRAZILY HUGE OR WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT?! this octopus could probably swallow a whole human up.

IMG_2155

ABALONES!!! and great deals. and you can try bargaining still. =D.

IMG_2169

ah~ my favourite picture of the day.

a tip? don’t wear your favourite shoes. no cloth shoes please. wear something that you can errr. clean easily? leather boots are fine =D.

if you’re wanting to save money from the ridiculously expensive entry tickets to the aquariums at COEX mall and 63 Building? this would be a good spot to visit. =D. best of all? FOC!

IMG_2037

that’s the 63 building! *my view from the subway*

the sampat that I am.

Painin Fever.

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

painin is where you visit somebody’s home on the Chinese New Year period to gamble, chit chat and get angpows *if you’re single that is. I especially love this season — even if I don’t gamble and had to play angry birds at the corner of the house. okay, it’s not that bad, I actually love the fact that many people gather together after such a long time and actually have fun together. sometimes, it isn’t the angpow that matters, it’s how friends and family who had not meet for such a long time actually making an effort to gather together.

some busy people might think, ah.. it’s so troublesome, it is JUST another week anyway. but what’s different? you’d have to experience it to understand ba.

I just felt, everyone should at least get together on CNY. especially close friends and families. =).

IMG_4115

barely even all the females on my mother’s side. we would need two school bus if we were to ever travel on a field trip together!

yes I know, my hair is totally dominating the entire picture PFFT. didn’t have time to cut it before CNY and now I cannot cut it until CNY is over. CNY taboo. haha.

just to name a few superstitions of CNY’s DON’Ts :
- cut your hair
- cut your nails (fml my nail broke vertically and I still don’t dare to cut it!)
- sweep the floor (esp on 1st day)
- say anything bad
- buy shoes (because shoes in cantonese is HAI which sounds very much like sighing)

IMG_41282 copy

the rabbit gesture he is doing for this rabbit year! =D. and that’s a mandarin orange I am holding!

currently the only kawan baik who came to visit me. such a good friend Jeremy is. *wipes tears*.

IMG_4152

the people I love hanging out with.

tsk tsk tsk everybody’s so busy nowadays and this is like the first time we gathered together this year. which gives an extra reason on why we need CNY! heh.

who’s having an open house soon? =D.

Shopping Marathon

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

tsk tsk tsk, it’s been so long since I myself had experienced such an awesome shopping day.

nowadays, it is getting more and more difficult to get clothes of my style, or at least, to my likings. perhaps I am still living in the past, or should I say, good pretty clothes are too expensive to buy.

I was glad that brands like cotton on came here, it is stylish and what’s more? AFFORDABLE. but the thing is, you’d perhaps bump into the same clothes everywhere. so sometimes, it isn’t that WE are unfashionable, it is just that fashionable clothes are way beyond our budget, judging on how most people are living in the low-salary world.

but TADA! I found something awesome.

I felt, sometimes, it is just the matter of how you match, yes? and also having good investments in every purchase. my idea of good investment? something that look’s awesome as itself, and even more awesome after pairing it with something else.

yesterday I went shopping with my sister and we came across one of our friends shop. initially, we thought it’d be really really pricey since they are all designer made. but to our surprise, they are within budget. for most pieces going below RM100, designer made, do you not call that a good bargain? especially when it is up-to-date fashionable pieces which are 100% what I’d call a good investment. best thing is, the pieces comes in not more than what you can count with your fingers. which means, NO MORE BUMPING INTO THE SAME CLOTHES!

so now, you might be wondering whose shop this belongs to. this shop, with the logo SO belongs to our friend named Kenneth Karson. Kenneth, is only a few years older than me and he designed what could be stuffed into two shops already.

IMAG0236

selling both men and womens clothes, I would say both looks pretty damn awesome. but in my opinion, being a guy would be better to visit his shop as there are plenty of male shoes (none female T_T) and also a huge variety of fashionable men’s clothes.

what you’d find here, you’d never find it anywhere else.

IMAG0241

we have two pair of siblings in this picture. you’d probably guessed which is my sister (whose birthday was yesterday, and coincidentally, it fell on the same day as Kenneth’s.) and that is of course, Kenneth, and his really pretty sister.

I could not thank him more for being so talented. coming out of his shop with 8 pieces of apparel, can you imagine how awesome he is already?

location : Sungei Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur, opposite Kim Gary Restaurant at Ground Floor, very easy to find. and there is one located at IOI Mall’s New Wing 1st Floor (EF13A).

and okay, let’s say you have no time and just want your stuff to be delivered right to you.

www.vanitydreams.net

there are always awesome online boutiques, especially for us, girls! =D. there seem to be really little online boutiques that actually sell you what you can see in pictures, and this one of the few! (my sis had some really bad experience by buying those pretty clothes modeled by perhaps some korean or taiwanese models which turns out really really bad. like, differing in quality, length and COLOUR.) never ever trust those.

they sell korean style stuff btw. teehee. <3.

anyway, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO YOU! =D.
