Who SAYS China SUCKS?!

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

As many might know, I live in China sometimes during the holiday as my dad’s there. Many of my caring friends who did not have a good impression or never went to China before always tells me “be careful, the food there very dirty”. Heck no man, of course there are places that’s clean and dirty right? if you’re on a tour there, the food MIGHT suck. And at certain places, yes I admit the toilet scares. But not like Malaysia don’t have disgusting toilets too right? FYI, at some places like in Li Jiang, the toilets even have TV in it. and is also absolutely clean. =D. and their food, gosh, especially their ethnic Chinese food. It’s heavenly. I totally love their SiChuan food. Believe me, although there isn’t any nasi lemak or char kuey teow. You’ll love the food there. Besides, super fresh Japanese buffet at only around RM60? totally worth it. THEN, there’s people who say that their plates etc are dirty. DO YOU SEE HOW they store the plates? for the roadside ones, don’t say la.. But for small restaurants even, they put their plates into a refrigerator like germs-killing machine. Super clean ok?

Some people always say ” huh? this thing is made from china ar? sure very lau ya “. RIGHT.. very VERY NOT true. Most good stuff is made there too. Most of the stuff we have here IS from China. For example, you and your very lau ya friends each open a cake shop. Your cake is high-quality, very fine. THEIRS? makes people go to the toilet 3 days 3 night after having it. THEN, your area’s cake is to be told dirty. DO YOU LIKE IT? no. =). It’s the same. But of course, cheap trips there are not advisable. You might even end up eating some lau ya food and going to the nice places for a short while when you spend most of your time at some random factories buying stuff so that the tour can earn back their money. You want quality? PAY for it.

So far I’ve only been to a few places, spends most of my time in Quan Zhou, a small town in the Fujian Province. But I can tell you, it don’t suck at all, besides, it rocks too! Imagine all the shopping in a quite ancient-style kinda road during winter. Their fashion, certain isn’t nice, but some, really really fashionable. and you can really get stuff that you can’t find in Malaysia. I bought a chio skirt there which costs me around RM20+ and in Malaysia, I saw something very very alike, not as nice in some ‘branded’ shop selling for RM80. Can you believe it? it’s so much more cheaper! (and nicer) and winter around coastal areas are only around 10-20 degrees. Natural air cond, so nice! and there is this very very delicious food called “Niu Pai” means er.. Mutton Ribs? Well it is only sold in Quan Zhou, it’s so delicious seriously I don’t know why is it only sold there, and there is a few type of choices too. Ordering almost everything on the menu for 3 person, a meal that makes you feel incredibly full only costs RMB 42. which means, RM 20+! Cheap, delicious, wonderful. Talking about it makes my mouth watery. But only one thing I hate about being there for too long, especially when I can’t really speak mandarin. super lonely.

And to you bananas out there! who say banana then can don’t like China?! you like Japan or not? love it right? =D

and here’s some (many) pix of China from two years ago <3

How should science stream students draw hearts?

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

I’ve wanted to blog about this before CNY, but I kept forgetting, and now since I remember I’ll just er, blog about it. It made me laugh for 600 whole seconds, minus one zero. Seriously. It’s just so funny! for me only maybe.

Was in tuition and the tuition teacher peeped at my friend’s paper with a HEART in it. It went more or less like this,

Teacher : oi oi oi, what you two doing behind there?
*peeps, saw a heart*
Teacher : no.. drawing heart for us science stream students not like that one..
*starts taking out the marker pen and draw a heart on the white board.*

heart

heart

heart

and he continues..

Teacher : so hor, you must also explain to him/her which is the right atrium, the left atrium, the right ventricle, the left ventricle, the aorta, the vena cava, the pulmonary veins and the pulmonary artery.

so just to say I love you for science students involves so much of drawing. hahahaha.

So Darling.. I… I..

The coming–Valentines.

Valentines, a day which girls and guys express their love to somebody they like with flowers, chocolates, jewelery, poems, perfumes, the meal you made yourself, clothes and so on.

BUT there are even some do’s and don’t for it too, for example.. you’re thinking, “I’d give plastic flowers to my girlfriend to represent our love for eternity and bla bla bla as plastic don’t die”. FAKE flowers actually represent FAKE love, so do you still want to give her fake ones? and you thought “it’s a day for her, let her decide” YOU CRAZY?! thats one of the most ‘no-heart’ ideas ever, give some effort and yes it’s okay even if you surprise her with a bag of gummy bear and give her a hug and say happy valentines, because it’s still something you think of ^^, she might have something planned for you too! and you want the day to be special, so you thought you will show her what you like to do the most/where you usually go and it’s a boy sort of stuff. do it another day! don’t bore her on valentines or she might go angry =D.

Your boyfriend doesn’t give you anything, absolutely NOTHING for valentines and you’re feeling a bit miserable, according to most Malaysians, Valentines is when guys and girls exchange gifts. But to some people, actually White Day is when your guy should give you gifts, so wait for March 14th to come and you might get surprised with a lovely poem or something else! but, errrr Malaysians don’t celebrate white day? (ok, MOST Malaysians) very sad thing. So just lets combine it both together and yes lets give girls gifts too on Valentines day and save back your $$ on white day. =D.

Thinking of what to give him/her.. a though one, if you’re a guy, easy-lah, girls stuff is all over, but be wise, make sure it’s her thing, the rarer the better sometimes (so she won’t see it everywhere she goes). But if you’re a girl, you can stroll the whole mall and think what suits him best, if you can bake, BAKE. If you can make chocolate, MAKE. (not the chocolate you make in the toilet obviously =P)

But if you’re a schooling person like me, you might as well just erm, delay it to the weekend. Maybe a call on Feb 14? =D. But tell you what you can do to put a BIGGER smile on her/his face on Valentines, surprise her/him with a hand made card or a card you bought but lots of your scribbles is in it ^^ and put it in her/his schoolbag when she’s/he’s not there, or you can dunk it in her/his mailbox. =D. OH YEA, also include a “love letter” and write down when to exactly meet and stuff, be creative!

For singles (and is not looking), you can make cards or wrap a small chocolate with ribbons and wrappers and give it to your single friends ^^ (that’s what I did). and if you’re single and likes somebody and don’t know what to do, use some heart to make a card or maybe buy her a box of chocolates, give it to her/him! if she/he likes you, she’ll/he’ll like you more ^^ and if she/he doesn’t like you (this might be what you think only, so just give anyway), friends also can give stuffs like that-lah! it’ll boost up your friendship! ok, I think. I’m not THAT sure, but that’s what I think.. haha.

Tips on creating a card : it’s always better to have a silver(or any colour you like) card/paper behind a picture/words etc. and follow its shape when you cut it, like a frame. It makes the picure/word stand out and it’s more attractive, might make the simple card look gorgeous even if it’s simple.

And remember, gifts you give should be reasonable for your own financial status, winning a girl/guys heart with a expensive gift is stupid (yes it’s mean to use the word stupid =P) thoughts that counts alright? =)

YES GIRLS LOVE FLOWERS! GUYS TOO!

My sis turns 22.

jeannie liew

somebody who I live with under the same roof since I’m born. Always only celebrating her birthday with some of her friends and thinks it’s more fun that way. Blur, soft but brave. Always letting me win in everything! forgetful, doesn’t speak ANY foul languages, not even a word of it. quite of a shopaholic, long Q of boys wooing her (most guys who walks by keep starring at her hahahah), manicure crazy and a very very good sister indeed =D. and my gift for her is a very pretty *coughs* handmade card! =P. sorry lah sis, I am broke!

I just suddenly feel like she’s getting all the freedom now and I heard that for my batch, we can only get license when we’re 21. GREAT! T_T. So I’d be still categorized as a little kid even if I’m 20. And in other countries, they can drive when they’re 16!! So if I migrate to some other country, I’d be able to drive at May! =P. But that won’t happen so I just gotta forget it. ITS SO NOT FAIR!

well well, went down to the heart of KL with 3 of her bestest friends and took some pictures. =D. I actually kinda felt bad for poor William that had to go into all the girls shop with us, waiting for us to try outfits, carry our plastic bags and so on. Had fun and really did shop till we drop.

1 question, is my food blogs/normal blogs that boring?!
