Who SAYS China SUCKS?!

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

As many might know, I live in China sometimes during the holiday as my dad’s there. Many of my caring friends who did not have a good impression or never went to China before always tells me “be careful, the food there very dirty”. Heck no man, of course there are places that’s clean and dirty right? if you’re on a tour there, the food MIGHT suck. And at certain places, yes I admit the toilet scares. But not like Malaysia don’t have disgusting toilets too right? FYI, at some places like in Li Jiang, the toilets even have TV in it. and is also absolutely clean. =D. and their food, gosh, especially their ethnic Chinese food. It’s heavenly. I totally love their SiChuan food. Believe me, although there isn’t any nasi lemak or char kuey teow. You’ll love the food there. Besides, super fresh Japanese buffet at only around RM60? totally worth it. THEN, there’s people who say that their plates etc are dirty. DO YOU SEE HOW they store the plates? for the roadside ones, don’t say la.. But for small restaurants even, they put their plates into a refrigerator like germs-killing machine. Super clean ok?

Some people always say ” huh? this thing is made from china ar? sure very lau ya “. RIGHT.. very VERY NOT true. Most good stuff is made there too. Most of the stuff we have here IS from China. For example, you and your very lau ya friends each open a cake shop. Your cake is high-quality, very fine. THEIRS? makes people go to the toilet 3 days 3 night after having it. THEN, your area’s cake is to be told dirty. DO YOU LIKE IT? no. =). It’s the same. But of course, cheap trips there are not advisable. You might even end up eating some lau ya food and going to the nice places for a short while when you spend most of your time at some random factories buying stuff so that the tour can earn back their money. You want quality? PAY for it.

So far I’ve only been to a few places, spends most of my time in Quan Zhou, a small town in the Fujian Province. But I can tell you, it don’t suck at all, besides, it rocks too! Imagine all the shopping in a quite ancient-style kinda road during winter. Their fashion, certain isn’t nice, but some, really really fashionable. and you can really get stuff that you can’t find in Malaysia. I bought a chio skirt there which costs me around RM20+ and in Malaysia, I saw something very very alike, not as nice in some ‘branded’ shop selling for RM80. Can you believe it? it’s so much more cheaper! (and nicer) and winter around coastal areas are only around 10-20 degrees. Natural air cond, so nice! and there is this very very delicious food called “Niu Pai” means er.. Mutton Ribs? Well it is only sold in Quan Zhou, it’s so delicious seriously I don’t know why is it only sold there, and there is a few type of choices too. Ordering almost everything on the menu for 3 person, a meal that makes you feel incredibly full only costs RMB 42. which means, RM 20+! Cheap, delicious, wonderful. Talking about it makes my mouth watery. But only one thing I hate about being there for too long, especially when I can’t really speak mandarin. super lonely.

And to you bananas out there! who say banana then can don’t like China?! you like Japan or not? love it right? =D

and here’s some (many) pix of China from two years ago <3

How should science stream students draw hearts?

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

I’ve wanted to blog about this before CNY, but I kept forgetting, and now since I remember I’ll just er, blog about it. It made me laugh for 600 whole seconds, minus one zero. Seriously. It’s just so funny! for me only maybe.

Was in tuition and the tuition teacher peeped at my friend’s paper with a HEART in it. It went more or less like this,

Teacher : oi oi oi, what you two doing behind there?
*peeps, saw a heart*
Teacher : no.. drawing heart for us science stream students not like that one..
*starts taking out the marker pen and draw a heart on the white board.*

heart

heart

heart

and he continues..

Teacher : so hor, you must also explain to him/her which is the right atrium, the left atrium, the right ventricle, the left ventricle, the aorta, the vena cava, the pulmonary veins and the pulmonary artery.

so just to say I love you for science students involves so much of drawing. hahahaha.

So Darling.. I… I..

Comments :
another MBC’s drama. It’s voted as the best Korean drama in 2005, so do you think it’s worth a watch? well, to me, it’s even worth to keep! It’s already enough by drooling at Daniel Henney and Hyun Bin, and Jung Ryu-won is REALLY pretty. oh so natural. Whats more when the whole movie is so amusing. Definitely a must-watch drama for Korean drama fans =P

Oh Ji-ho as Jang Cheol-su
Park Han-byul as Oh Yu-gyeong
Kim Seong-min as Billy

Synopsis :
About Anna who lost her parents during her younger days and inherited her grandmothers wealth. Soon, she became rather arrogant, fussy and treats everybody else as her slave. Her husband, Billy couldn’t stand her attitude too. She then met a rude man, Cheol-su who is desperate for money and have 3 nephews to look after. Anna and Cheol-su’s first meeting made them into instant enemies and later when Anna has amnesia, Cheol-su bluffed her that she’s his girlfriend and forces her to do all the housework, treating her like a maid.

Comments :
I laughed ALL THE WAY throughout this drama. Good one. Although it’s something that is quite of an unrealistic story, but it’s something that might happen too. Really really funny. From the script writer of Hong’s sisters (Sassy girl,Chun Hyang and My Girl). and guess what? Han Ye-seul’s English is even better than mine, well most of us, so it gives you a really nice feeling when she speaks English in the drama. Usually in other drama’s they are said to speak English fluently but you can see that actually they’re just memorizing the words. So it feels a bit fake. Haha. Something like a Malaysian who don’t know any Korean speaking Korean.

She didn’t want to marry him although most girls in her school is already crazy of Prince Shin, but she is forced to marry him as her dad is in debts. Shin’s girlfriend, Hyo-rin declines his propose to further her ballet studies even he said that he will have to marry somebody he doesn’t know if she doesn’t accept. So Chae-kyung and Shin got married without loving each other. Shin’s cousin, Yul came back from England and fell in love with Chae-kyung. Hyo-rin on the other hand realized how much she love Shin and went back to Korea to look for Shin. A mixed up story.

Comments :
Yay! Who don’t like fairytale stories about a girl waiting for the prince charming. Well, this one is some sort of the modern version of it. I love it especially their clothing.. so pretty!! *big applause for the designer* storyline’s great! mixture of comedy and romance. Also another one recommended by me ^^, but some might find boring for it is a little slower than most drama’s, but in my opinion, the other drama Eun-hye acted in (The man of the vineyard) is EVEN SLOWER, and boring too. This is more of a “chic flick” though.

When Man Soo came back to Korea with good looks and money, Soo Jung went chasing after Man Soo. But later on the reasons for every mean thing she did will slowly be revealed.

Comments :
Ever seen the movie “200 pounds of beauty” ? This one is sort of a male version of it but he didn’t go for plastic surgery. I really like how they twist and turn the story to make it quite unpredictable. Another favorite. It’s really addictive too, so don’t just say ” let me watch 1 episode of it and study later “, because after that when you’re studying, you keep want to know what happens next!

Yeah, an old drama, but still likable even until now. The first ever Korean Drama I’ve bought. SUPER DUPER NICE. It makes me laugh, it makes me cry, yeah, so it’s a touching, loving and a comedy too! great fusion of theme. and with Song Hye Gyo’s good looks and wonderful acting, it’s even nicer, one of the most successful drama’s if I’m not mistaken. Just watch it.

is having problems.

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Gosh I felt so bad, seriously bad. I always spill things that I shouldn’t say, I can’t control it, I think I need a psychologist; but they’re so expensive. I tend to ALWAYS say things I know I shouldn’t be saying. Like for example ” oh I’m so fat ” to somebody who weight’s more than I do, what I say, is I know, true. But what they think, is super duper not what I meant. I will only go in my thoughts ” oh shoot! I said the wrong thing ” after I said it. I don’t think twice when I talk, sometimes I just talk to people assuming like they are the most perfect person I’ve ever known and didn’t care about what other people think when I talk to them. I’m always feeling guilty about what I said, what I did, but I have seriously no idea how to fix it back, I thought of like maybe ” opps, I’m so sorry, no offense alright? ” but again I thought, that’s even more offensive. or is it not? ah. It’s not like I accidentally stepped on somebody and goes “sorry sorry” then forgets about it. I don’t mean to hurt someone, really.

Because when I put myself in their shoes, I might think ” goodness, can you stop it already? “. Or is it normal to accidentally say something wrong? I’m really sensitive to what people say or what people do that might offend me, and I know that I’m also like that so I’m okay with it. It’s just that I’m really worried about the other person’s feelings.

About my actions, I don’t really care if it bothers somebody who I don’t know, as long as I don’t make enemies, but just my friends, I always hope to have a good impression of myself with my friends.. I don’t want to be neglected and left out like how I was before this. Sometimes when I tell my friends how lonely I am, they would just say ” why not make your first move instead? “. So I did, but at times they just give the look that makes me feel like I’m bothering them and that I should get away and let them have their own best friend talk. I don’t know whats wrong with me, but I don’t have the kind of best friend that shares everything of her with me, hangs out a lot together, that cares for me like my own family.. like those kind of best friends like on TV. I wonder how it feels, must be really fun. it’s doesn’t really matter now since I have Eugene <3.

I remember last time, the time where nobody likes me, and it’s just like I’m not in the circle. Even cousins my age doesn’t want to play with me.. no matter how I tried, they just look at me like I’m a black duck in the crowd of white beautiful swans. They looked down at me because I was lacking in physical and mental ; includes education wise. I have a sister that studies really hard, always seeing her with her books during schooling days, soft and well-mannered. and when everybody compares me to her, I’m like lacking so much. Nobody bothers to know what I can do, they judge me before they even know. That is why, now, although fussy, I hate people who look down on other people, criticizes what other people couldn’t change to, but of course if you see a beggar that can walk, can talk, looks incredibly healthy and begs for money at the road side wearing attire that looks not bad (they exist, I saw), a person with an attitude so surreal, then you can criticize them. For a normal (good) person, I think they’d have good and bad personalities, and of course everybody makes mistakes. Just that do not sell your pride unless you are forced to.
