US =D. I just love Feeq’s fisheye. it’s awesome on how it can fit so many people.

some of the Silat performance. perhaps the most interesting one. seeing kids fight against each other is really pretty entertaining xD.

lunch and breakfast! we had food they brought back from some kenduri (malay ceremonies) for lunch. they had RAISINS in the rice. very interesting, never had rice like that before. and it is YUMMY! for breakfast, we had nasi goreng kampung, which is the best nasi goreng/fried rice I’ve ever had. I think I shall start ordering nasi goreng at mamaks. =P. alongside with some curry puff, kuih and milo =D.

early that morning we went over to the padi field and we actually learned how to SKIN RICE. =P. in the traditional way, which is said to be better because we won’t lose the nutrients at the end of each rice. rice processed by factories have already lost these nutrients they said.

that long plank of wood is INDEED very heavy. and it is not an easy thing to do, requires skill to hit on the rice. if not, your rice will run EVERYWHERE!

before and after. =D.

and later on, we went to the GOATS PLACE!

I’ve never knew, goat have weird pupil. it’s long and it’s horizontal. like a rotated version of an evil cat eye. it’s like.. a horizontal line.

the beauty of life — my first time experiencing the birth of.. the birth! I have never even seen hamster give birth pfft. it’s really wonderful despite all gooey things. those gooey things don’t seem gooey anymore!

MEEEEEHHH. baby kids are super cute when the MEH. =P.

mother eating (I KNOW, IMAGINE YOU EAT) the placenta on her baby’s body. damn loving moment awww. but don’t you do that if not the doctor die of shock. =D.

have no idea what this is >_>”. I was wondering, maybe an empty placenta omg. maybe there was an extra egg fertilized by some ant’s sperm and this is what it produced. ok perhaps ants don’t have sperms. dunno lah!

lastly, MY FOSTER MOM : THE GREAT COOK! she already have 12 grandchildren. oldest one is as old as me. maybe she should be called my foster grandma T_T. but she is very nice and funny. =D. I like listening to grandma stories. mm.

great experience really, to all who don’t have a kampung, you should really consider joining this! and I am waiting for another kampung homestay to come about, hope it’ll be some chinese/hakka/nonya one or something! would love to learn more about my own heritage =X. I am not nonya, just saying. =D. 100% Hakka. how often do you find that?!

minus the dinner part. too many pictures! 500 pictures in 2 days without major camwhoring is a LOT.

Kem Modal Insan – the name of the place is to tell you they’d make you a better person haha. but by the first sight of the name you might think it’s some sort of NS camp haha like mine, it was Kem Tegas Mesra. it’s 3 words and it starts with a KEM. =X. anyways, thanks Agrotourism and NewsZapped Media. =D.

some people might like it, some won’t. if you’re a high class-person-who-only-loves-city-life, skip this post. haha. I liked how the road is so narrow with rows of houses along it. it’s.. warm. they are like a big family, everybody knowing each other, sharing food and fruits.

we were welcomed by a group of people in kompangs @@”. but they were in uniform that doesn’t look very traditional actually. hahaa.

TEA! it was some malay chocolate kuih (not a fan of kuihs.) and awesome curry puffs with FABULOUS DURIAN. at first sight, the durian is really pale. I didn’t expect it to be nice at all. so I took one little bite. and IT IS SO HEAVENLY. THE MILKY, BITTER, SWEET TASTE. it’s heaven. for those who doesn’t appreciate durians.. well, LESS MEN MORE SHARE!

and since it’s kampung, nobody really needs make up =X.

ADIK ZOE! we were divided into pairs/groups along with our foster parents. and my roomate’s ZoePorcelainSkin.

FIRST MEAL OF THE DAY! thats sambal fish, fried fish, sambal (they used the traditional way to make it! the stone thing? ) and the last and THE BEST, ubi kayu leaves with pumpkin + coconut milk. it’s HEAVENLY. some people got tempoyak as well T_T. but I consider myself lucky, mine’s really really good. =3.

FIRST ACTIVITY OF THE DAY!

menoreh getah. I’ve heard this a zillion times from my grandma about how huge orang utans and elephants walk pass her while she hides behind the trees. but this is the first time doing it. it isn’t really difficult! =X. needs more practice only. =/.

the hardened latex. DON’T TOUCH. it’s really smelly and I heard if you touch it with your bare hands, it’ll stay for DAYSSS. =X.

latex dripping down! I MENOREH-ED THIS TREE!

ACTIVITY TWO.

white faced monkey eating rambutan. according to them, this isn’t a monyet. it’s a beruk. which means a bigger version of monyet whom is more tamed and humanlike? I kind of pity the monkey. it doesn’t get to run around the forest =(. and according to the guy, it’s trained in a BERUK SCHOOL in Thai, who trains beruk to pluck coconuts @@.

and this monkey plucks 300 coconuts a day! amazing much. my condo say wanna pluck coconuts also need 1k HAHHA. and the number of coconut trees are….. what, 10? or less. dunno. =X.

A NICE MONKEY PICTURE NO? =P.

getah seed, satay sticks = kids entertainment in the kampung. it’s pretty fun but I got bored after 1minute. guess I am no longer a kid! =P.

the kampung’s nenek whom menoreh’s the whole field of getah trees ON HER OWN teaching us how to stitch the jackfruit’s protection. apparently, it’ll expand as the jackfruit expands. and she also mentioned that a jackfruit will always be “invaded” by worms if it is not protected. it doesn’t matter if it has holes, as long as there’s a layer of something.

made by 2 pieces of 3 paired leaves coconut leaf.

beautiful, isn’t it?

my kampung house! it might not be the best looking kampung house, but it really gave me an experience on WHAT IF I had a kampung home. my grandma stays with me and I am born in KL. never been to a kampung =(.

one thing lah, the weather is unbearable in the afternoon inside the house. but at night, FRIGGIN COLD.

ACTIVITY THREE!

making your own century duck egg?

I never knew it’s wrapped with MUD+salt. really. and that black thingy is the skin of rice! fried.

me and Tian Chad making our century eggs! my finger then smell of mud T_T. and salt. those mud are DAMNNNNN sticky. same reason why they used it to cover the egg. FULL COVERAGE AH.

ACTIVITY FOUR

our minyak kelapa sawit! at first I thought it is a coconut wth. it’s actually really really small OILY seeds. by the way, I heard kelapa sawits are considered as FATS not OIL. so consume it more to become fat =D.

ACTIVITY FIVE

our catch the eel activity. I don’t know if its an inheritance from my dad who can’t even take the snakes showing on tv, I AM SCARED OF EELS. they are long and slimey T_T. JUST LIKE SNAKES. I yelled as if its a poisonous snake when somebody dropped it and it was slithering towards my direction. *shivers*

ACTIVITY SIX the best part.

DURIANS! EVERYWHERE! FREE FOR EVERYONE! you see a durian on the floor, grab it. it’s yours to eat. the durian tree’s belongs to NOBODY and it tastes better than D24.+

LOOK! this is what they call the Kampung Durian. rich, fragrant, smooth… and found everywhere!

and look at it’s texture! MM YUM YUM.

it was like a durian buffet. I had so much durian I got a huge pimple on my nose that very night T_T.

LOTUS! I thought this is a cinapek flower only found in cinapek places. but to my surprise, lotuses there are abundant!

I’ll leave rest of the night and the next day (another half-day =D) for my next post. I shall sleep! TOODLES!

PS : end of sem = finals = stress = hectic = oil glands secretes more oil = pimples = FML.

yes, yes, I know, I eat a lot. but it is irresistible. especially when I SMELL food. it’s just so good. thinking about durian makes me salivate. <3. so what’s famous at Malacca? DURIAN CENDOL OF COURSE!

the most famous durian cendol store at Jonker Street. it’s called the Jonger 88. it have been here for YEARS. I come here every time I am in Malacca! but that was pretty long ago. still, very good!

no doubt they have the most delectable asam laksa (2nd. 1st’s at Penang’s Air Itam). but the worst part about this shop is, their seats are pretty limited, so most people prefer eating while standing outside on the road. and that, of course attracts more people because the heavenly smell of durian diffuses through the air. <3.

the part I like the most. it is an open air area where antique stuff are everywhere. very nonya. love it.

when I mean everywhere..

it is seriously, EVERYWHERE.

DURIAN ABC! <3.

DURIAN CENDOL! <3 <3 <3. I prefer cendol over ABC actually, not as sweet and the taste is more focused. it wasn’t as goad as I’ve remembered though. I was hoping for something better.. if I am not mistaken, they’ve gotten less generous on the durian paste =/.

there is another one at tan kim hock which is nicer. but whenever you go there, you’d definitely splurge a lot on dodol, sweets, biscuits and etc. because, the whole shop is FILLED with edible souvenirs. all so good!

whenever there’s food, Jamie’s face will definitely light up. *GOOD food.

MrLongEyelash.

here’s one touching story : Nigel hates durian. but Jamie wanted to try both durian ABC and chendol and knows that it is impossible for her to finish it. so Nigel said “it’s alright.. I’ll share it with you =/”, AWWWWW. =3.

NONYA LAKSA! it isn’t bad. my first time having this so I couldn’t really rate it. it’s like asam laksa without the asam like its name. but I like the asam! =X.

the shop that sells this this laksa. =D. I like this picture, the setting looks a little vintage albeit there’s this one modernized building pfft.

beard papa used to sell this hugeee durian cream puff for rm5. and not anymore T_T. but I FOUND ANOTHER ONE!

MINI DURIAN CREAM PUFFS! very nice loh can? I think it’s RM1 each. =D. YUM YUM. super orgasmic. heh.

that posh building is called BEI ZHAN. it’s a restaurant. my NEXT PREY. =D. I googled the place. apparently it’s price is really reasonable and the food is bloody delicious. <3. no wonder for the big building. and two (or three) floors!

Fun Fact : I LOVE PEARS! they are DELICIOUSSSS. all types of pear! green ones, yellow ones, brown ones!

went to Hennessy Artistry @ Zouk on Saturday. I didn’t know a single artist there, but it was no doubt one of the best. be it the artist or the club, it is awesome. =D. whoever who thinks that it suck sucks! Cranberry is the new yummy flavour!

so you have a hint of whats coming up next right?

just last Friday, Nigel dragged me down to Johor Bahru (because he said I have NO LIFE.), the border line of Singapore. (so tempted to visit Singapore T_T). The best thing was, he only took 3 hours to reach. =D! highway is the best. especially with NO JAM at all. I had fun looking at all those cheap chocolates at Zone. =D. I envy all JB people because they can get a supply of cheap chocolates pfft.

Nigel and Michelle.

I had class in the morning and I went to JB all the way without sleeping or dozing off. at 1am I felt like a zombie already. T_T. and thank goodness the hotel was just next to the place this event was held.

event : this is FREEDOM! okay, this is the first time I am in a club playing techno trance music. it’s very much for people who came without friends to enjoy themselves too. you don’t need a partner to dance to the music. =D. I did not dance (because I don’t know how to lah!), but it was entertaining to see Chris do it while I enjoy my free flow of drinks. =P. but Chris hates the camera so no pictures of him T_T.

okay anyway that is not really my main point of getting to JB because I have a VERY BERRY GLUTTONOUS MIND. ngek ngek ngek! totally got fat because of this trip. CONFIRM.

so lets talk about breakfast. I woke up and I was crazily hungry so I ate the hotel’s orange. half of it. and I got hungrier because the orange is so sour and so we head to a Hakka restaurant. (say, the turning in to right leads you to Mutiara hotel, turn left to reach to this shop. you’d definitely spot the BIG HAKKA word.)

the Yong Tau Foo which is really good. I love the soup that comes with it. and the REAL NICE YTF CHILLI. =D.

AND THIS ONE. highly recommended! =D. it’s one of the most special hakka dish I’ve ever had. and it is my first time having it too despite being a full hakka and always travelling to hakka villages in China.

THIS is the hakka village of Fujian. it’s 3-4 hours drive from my home in China. (can reach Penang ok! or Singapore!) very beautiful place. but, very boring too no doubt. unless you like these type of go-to-relax-your-heart-mind-and-soul kind of trip because at night (6-7pm) the sky will be completely dark. you won’t get to see a thing when you look out of your window. I prefer those with loads of shops and malls! (exp : HK! BANGKOK! GUANGZHOU!)

but I have to say, village food is really good. really really good.

chewy yam balls I call it. and this originated from those round round earth houses too. BLOODY GOOD. maybe I taste my ancestor’s love or something that is why it is so nice tsk tsk. <3.

okay that is all for breakfast. LETS LOOK AT LUNCH!

MUAR OTAK-OTAK and SATAY! eventhough the satay in Kajang is the best, but the ones in Muar/Malacca is really different.

this is in Muar’s Gluttonous street. a street named after me HAHA okay just joking.

okay, the BIGGEST difference is the HALAL or not difference. this is PORK! =P. and the next difference is the sauce. some places, they mix pineapple to their sauce! but this one I had in Muar didn’t I think? but it still tasted really good. perhaps it is because it’s pork hehehe. I am a big fan of pork! =X.

and Muar otak-otak. MUCH BETTER than the ones in KL lor. it’s soft and there are a generous amount of fish in it. <3.

TADA! the special part! Muar satay serves satay without onion but instead, with PINEAPPLES!

and my cacat smile. sigh.

AND THE GENEROUS HOR JIAN (fried oyster) UNCLE! the best of the best! really, I’ve never had such good Hor Jian before. and I told him to add the amount of chilli. which makes it even better hehehe xD.

unlike KL, it is cooked in a super big wok and it’s very watery when he first cook it. and can you see the SIZE o the Hor Jian?! like, half the size of those big oyster we eat at some english restaurant! compared to the peanut sized ones in KL, this is SUPER BIG.

Nigel. he didn’t want to take pictures one, so the only way is to hold the camera and point it towards him only. you don’t need to ask because his answer will be NO if you do.

will save dinner for the next post hehehe. truly an amazing day, with all those food! <3.

PS : HAPPY WESAK DAY! I remember last time about standard 4? that was when I learned what wesak day was. I matched the day wrongly with the race that celebrates it. I match it with.. INDIA. super paiseh when the teacher told everyone “you ah, chinese also don’t know wesak day!” wuwuwuwuwu T_T.

like how I like to do it, blog according to the picture heee.

contains food. to hungry people : go fill your tummy first! =D

still not sick of posting about food but this will be my last okay! xD

you see I am so nice that I didn’t put a food picture on top to save hungry people hahahahha! taken that temple which is quite near to my house. I think they change their flower daily or once in a few days. such expensive flowers!

and how each and every one of these old temples are built without using nails or whatsoever is really cool. admirable. can you imagine, people from last time are actually even brainier than most of us today! and I am really curious about how did they get those gold paint from last time. hmm. or is it new? @@.

SO I START! this is the best popiah alike thing ever. popiah skin, sugar+nuts, some crunchy hairlike thing, vege, and MORE VEGES! (I don’t like those vege’s on the small bowls =/)

the correct traditional way of eating this thing. I don’t remember what is it called. so just call it popiah okay. it is only found in Fujian =D.

can you just look at the interior of the room?! it is so so so so so nice. Malaysians should do this too. or maybe because us living here are too stingy to renovate, we only care about the FOOD wahahaha!

3kg. as in eat this and gain 3kg. look at the amount of oil =D=D. but it is damn delicious haha.

not only the rooms are nice, the way the serve things are special too! but this thing kind of reminds me of what those ancient people in those chinese movies use as a toilet bowl. =X.

it is mushrooms. very delicious mushrooms. can you believe it?! mushrooms at this shape! marmite mushrooms =D=D.

chicken internal organs. as in ALL of its internal organs. through bio, it is said to be very poisonous, but through chinese, it is said to be very delicious and it is! just don’t eat it so often lah. =D.

niu zai ku (cow’s ribs) go to any restaurant in Fujian (or is it just Quan Zhou/Xia Men) order this, and you’ll love it. I went to over 5 restaurants and had this, all deliciously served, and all cooked in a different style. =D.

HOHOHO! need me to explain more?

is that a shark in my soup? =O. /gg.

okay lah those two are my most exclusive dinners. I don’t have it often at all (once in a blue moon. no, once in a blue blue moon! I don’t think food like these are NOT worth it, not super delicious yet so expensive. and it don’t fill the stomach!) don’t simply think. =D.

China’s Christmas =O.

that eeky worm-like thing is yam. it look so disgusting that I don’t want to eat it. and that thing behind wrapped with seaweed is actually quite good. it is served in a small restaurant (not that bright =/ but damn packed) in Zhong Shan Lu in Xia Men. said that they sell the best peanut dessert. I don’t like peanuts but it really tasted quite good =D.

remember a few post ago I posted a picture of my dad feeding me something black and it is damn delicious? well, it is this. I don’t know what this is. but it tastes like Machi coated with black “chi ma” ( I don’t know la what’s the big deal! T_T) and sugar. damn damn damn damn damn damn damn damn damn nice. MY IDEA TO BUY IT! aahahahhaa.

I just love winter. you can wear as chio as you want. all those scarfs, stockings, boots… unlike in Malaysia. you wear singlet and shorts and you’ll still feel heaty. actually if you walk around naked you’ll still feel heaty and sweaty =/. the weather is extra hot nowadays. I cannot imagine how people live in places like Egypt. sure die lah right?
