Shibuya & Ikebukuro

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

THIS, shall be a post dedicated to girls. and in between, two pictures dedicated to my male readers.

both Shibuya and Ikebukuro are very famous spots for shopping (and Harajuku too, but it’s like our err, Petaling Street?) and if you want to see pretty girls? you can find tonnes here.

they wear mini skirts and shorts on such a cold weather which reminds me of the chinese saying “oi leng ng oi meng” which literally means “want beauty don’t want life” haha.

IMG_4522 copy

one of the famous Shibuya crossing. I read in the book it’s nice to stand aside and look at how many people there is o.0..

I was told that this crossing is normally PACKED with people. maybe it’s raining so, lesser people.

IMG_4461

say Hello to Shibuya 109! they have the COOLEST FASHION I’VE EVER SEEN. seriously. it’s all so fashionable. read on to see moreeee. =D.

and, at first me and my mom was clueless on where the Shibuya 109 is because upon exit we see NO SHIBUYA 109. it’s actually a few blocks away. just ask anyone. even if they don’t know how to explain, they’d take you there. they are that nice. I asked a lady where is it and she looks a little rush but she still brought us there @_@. she didn’t just point. but she BROUGHT US THERE! at least to a spot where it’s noticeable. such nice people T_T.

IMG_4479

you must be wanting to see the girl on that building. here’s another view of it. kawaii? haha.

IMG_4472

and oh, do you know, there’s two Shibuya 109′s? this is the old one.

and look at the road. here, if you fall on the road you’d probably have deep injuries. there? maybe a few scratches. haha, the ground is damn flat! it must be the amount of people walking on it making the surface smooth HAHAHAHA.

IMG_4519

Jap girls! since I heard that men here have some sort of fetish towards girls in uniforms. here it is. =D.

IMG_4470 copy

ready to see what’s in this building?

well, I am not really sure if I could take pictures. and it’ll look like as if I’m some paparazzi if I were to take the pictures. so my mom took them for me instead =X.

IMG_4533

THE CUN-NESS OF JAPANESE FASHION! I absolutely LOVE this place. except for how expensive each piece is. around RM200 for a decent fashionable piece =(. what’s worse is the quality ain’t the long lasting type. pfft. a plain t shirt will probably cost above RM100 too.

and that girl wearing like a celebrity is THE SALES PERSON omg damnnnnnnnn fashionable. all sales people here look like celebrities. and 50% of the girls that shop here looks like that tooooo.

IMG_4526

pretty!! *___*!

IMG_4547

the famous Liz Lisa. no doubt, very very very nice. but also the most pricey one here. haha.

IMG_4549

for the men’s fetish. HAHAHA. one set is about RM600 I think? just for uniform. lol. =X.

IMG_4538

here’s a picture of the pretty and fashionable shoppers here. most of them look this good. really. just standing one side looking at them is enough. super cun fashion!

IMG_4557

she’s much older than she.. dress.

IMG_4502

the SIZE of the apple store in Tokyo. there’s like more than 10 iPads on display (all occupied lol!). unlike here at most there’s… 2?

IMG_4503

one whole shop selling only ballet clothes!

IMG_4509

the Disney building. damn chio.

IMG_4560

Japan’s Chinese food. RM15 for a bowl of egg fried rice anyone?

IMG_4484

I JUST HAD TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS. my TOP!!! <3. your GD. you all can have GD. I’ll take TOP.

IMG_4481

even eating in a restaurant, you’d need to pay through the vending machine in front first. hahaha.

IMG_4486

they have pretty girls on HUGE screens to attract you to go play their arcade games and take some purikura.

went next door for lunch. haha.

IMG_4497

underground restaurants are awesome. they look very freaking good. even though it’s not exactly spacious but you’d feel like you’re in a traditional Japan. =D.

IMG_4490

50yen for an egg! broiled.

I’ve never seen white eggs before though. pretty cute =D! I wonder if it’s painted pfft.

IMG_4495

I dunno what’s this. but its RAMEN! pork soup. heavy pork flavour @@”.

IMG_4494

you know Zaru Soba? this is like the winter version. the dipping sauce is hot. very special. had never eaten anything like this before. but Sherlyn told me it’s not as good as the ones near her school.

IMG_4489

Sherlyn! <3. she was like the only other girl whose the same age as me that plays o2jam. we’re in the same clan, called Extreme. hahahahaha. LOOK HOW EXTREME WE ARE! OUR FIRST MEET UP IS IN JAPAN! *coughs*

IMG_4559

PINK CAMERA! *points*

IMG_4565

the colourful straps. sold everywhere. 4000yen for one. that’s.. RM150! I bought mine in Korea for like.. less than RM50 =X.

IMG_4558

check out those bakeries linking to the train station. AWESOMENESSS. you’d be hungry as soon as you see it. it tastes good too! expensive lah, for buns. RM8 for one. mm. one thing is, if you wanna eat then use the YEN without converting it to RM. 200yen for a bun. OKAY RIGHT? hehe.

IMG_4588

and Ikebukuro!! the one place that I came twice throughout my whole trip. because it’s awesome. you’ll have to go through the shops one by one really.

IMG_4583

and Sunshine City. <3. there’s a stationary (AWESOME OKAY! I collect pens! I have pen fetish.) floor on the top floor in that shop located right next to the mall. or should I say, in the mall, but the entrance is next to it.

IMG_4581

it ain’t Elegant. it is UTTERLY CUTE! whole shop filled with Hello Kitty’s. a bit too young for me though U_U.

crap I look the same in all these pictures. har har =X. er. more to come.

********************************************************

but before I go, I would like to share this one picture I took the other day. very “stunning” picture.

okay, so I was working in KLCC the other day and when I was on my way home from work, the sky looked so pretty so I took a picture of it. together with our famous Twin Towers. I recently uploaded it on my comp and found something SUPER CREEEEEEPYYYY.  maybe you can tell me what this is, or maybe you’ve saw something similar in your pictures too.

klcc

there’s a star shaped something on the right side of the picture. can you see it? =S.

out of curiosity I also managed to come across this video. even creepier. U_U. click here to view.

Meiji Jingumae

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Konbanwa! long time no see blog. I had been working U_U. but NOW when my coll started, I am more free. why? because there’s only twoooo classes per week! and hopefully the time table wouldn’t change, so both the subjects fall on the same day = one coll day per week! YIPEE!

IMG_4258

it was so HOT when we arrived in Tokyo. it’s always like that, whenever we land we wear thick clothes and when we get out, it’s so hot we’re literally sweating in winter. SO, the next day, I wore my mom’s thin sweater. but then it rained and I was almost froze to death. thank goodness we brought extra clothes.

IMG_4263

oh right, opposite our hotel, there’s YOSHINOYA! they used to have it in Malaysia, but it closed down. =(. here, they charged about RM8 per bowl and everybody complained that it’s expensive and unfilling yada yada yada.

and guess what? THIS BOWL OF RICE, IS THE CHEAPEST MEAL YOU CAN FIND IN JAPAN. and it is so DELICIOUS. 280yen (around RM10) without the soup. 50yen extra with the soup =D. so well, if you’re on a budget, you can absolutely survive with eating beef bowl everyday.

IMG_4260

here’s the prices for what you can get in Yoshinoya. by the way, this is Japan’s fast food. looks absolutely healthy to me!

IMG_4266

meal for two and below 1000yen is only available on fast food restaurants. =P.

back to my topic. MEIJI JINGUMAE!

you can get off either at Meiji Jingumae-Eki or Harajuku-Eki ( JR Line). Eki means Station. these two stations are right next to each other.

IMG_4272

this is Harajuku. upon exiting to the Meiji Shrine exit, you’d see this street.

but you’d be wondering, WHERE’S THE SHRINE?!

well, BEHIND. turn around and walk. one or two minutes later, you’d see this. (if you are taking the JR Line, just walk straight.)

IMG_4284

this would be on the right when you see it. I took this picture under the shade because it was raining, and this angle looks much better.

IMG_4286

it’s not like a holiday in Japan without taking a picture in front of the entrance of famous shrines.

IMG_4305

after the entrance, you might find it weird because it feels like you’re going into a park for a jog. it’s pretty far. but after a while you’d see these wine barrels on your left.

weird attire, I know. well, I was supposed to wear black sport shoes. told my mom to pack the addidas. but the white one is an addidas too. =X. so.. haha.

IMG_4308

and these JAPANESE barrels of wines on the right.

PS : it’s VERY VERY VERY difficult to take pictures when it’s raining. pfft. especially when there’s no hood for your camera. T_T.

IMG_4368

something I had been wanting to try for the LONGEST TIME.

IMG_4362

my hands were already frozen. and it became more frozen. everybody washes their hands here. I just had to follow. you can drink the water too. it tastes like… mineral water. HAHAHA.

IMG_4349

the rain looked a little like scattered slurpee falling off the sky and melts immediately when it touches something. it wasn’t snow. but it wasn’t exactly rain either. haha.

one thing about having flash on is that my eyes expands when the flash reaches my eyes making me look horrifying pfft.

IMG_4411

I repeat, I was FREEZING TO DEATH. these two Korean girls were wearing shorts! I just had to had a picture with them. very nice girls xD.

IMG_4378

MEIJI SHRINE! finally!

IMG_4382

the souvenir shops selling all sort of charms. it’s very expensive. like 500yen for one U_U.

IMG_4436

write your wishes and hang it here! I wonder if the Japanese gods can read all types of languages. but there should be no problem since there’s google translate. =D! or perhaps you google translate what you wanna say, print it out and try writing it in Japanese =D.

IMG_4441

it’s forbidden to take pictures INSIDE the shrine but it’s like this.. you throw a coin into those huge boxes with parallel holes and make a wish. it’s pretty awesome. but overall, this shrine is awesome. if you were to stop by at Harajuku, come here. =D.

Samsung Galaxy SL from RM718! be the 1st 100 to own it!

Monday, March 21st, 2011

best bargain or what?

THE KOREAN PHONE IS NOW IN MY HANDS! (not mine, just.. in my hands, for now.)

IMG_8165

do I look more like a Korean now because my phone is Korean?

okay just joking. but it is because the Galaxy S is like owned by everybody in the latest dramas. rich or poor roles, all of them uses the Galaxy S. and I thought, if I own one I’d feel how they felt just because I’m using the same phone. =X.

but now the NEWER VERSION is in my hands! HAH! they you must be jealous. *coughs*.

my finger nails are long because I’ve always wanted to paint it but I couldn’t find the time pfft.

IMG_8210

what I like about this phone compared to any other smart phones is the handphone accessory hole. there’s no other smart phone that I know of that has these accessory holes anymore. and I hate it. and this hole can probably fit 3 accessories! =D.

a girl is always a girl =X. and FYI, even guys in Japan and Korea puts accessories on their phone. it is NOT a gay thing. just that some guys are stereotype. agree? girls?

IMG_8195

HD video recording

so shall I start brainwashing you now?

yes of course. teehee.

firstly, I would like to talk about the screen.

IMG_8221

big screens are VERY VERY VERY important, especially if you like to watch dramas on your phone (at least that is what I love to do before I sleep) and also, reading blogs would be much more comfortable. you wouldn’t have to strain your eyes to read, and since I love reading blogs with plenty of pictures, BIG SCREENS ARE ESSENTIAL. 4″ is just the right size. not too big, but definitely not small. you’d have a perfect grip of it.

IMG_8205 copy

if you love cute stuff, this would be the most most most ideal phone. because not only does it look pretty. the fonts could be pretty too. U_U. this feature is the first I’ve seen. and I guess it only appears on Korean phones.

IMG_8202

even the korean fonts are in “cool jazz” too!

IMG_8200

I guessed you’ve noticed one thing in this picture?

it’s the contrast. nope, I did not edit the contrast.

this is called the “SUPER CLEAR LCD” screen. it’s different from Galaxy S’ AMOLED screen. it’s.. super clear. and the colours. oh my goodness.

IMG_8207

just so you’d have an idea of how sharp the picture is. and also the colour.. oh so vibrant. like what my friend said, “it’ll make lousy pictures look good.”

also, noticed how dark the background is? the phone is really bright! I took this picture in the day. no problem using this phone under the sun! and the most awesome thing is the BATTERY! it has 10% extra compared with Galaxy S, allowing 24/7 connectivity!

my experience? my phone is online for 12 hours. I played with it for a bit too. and there’s still 3 quarter of the battery left!

also, the Galaxy SL has improved specs and  features compared with the Galaxy S and Nexus S.

front camera camwhore =D.

20110319080549

and the 5MP back camera. forgot to bring your camera? no problemo!

20110319080608

I downloaded pudding camera (Korean app. hahahah.) to add the “Korean” effect to it.

as you all know, nowadays, our handphones are like our life. it is a necessity rather than a “want”. we wouldn’t survive without it. without it, we’d be lost and a lot of time will be wasted (writing letters would be the only option). now, when we had to wait for somebody, we can play angry birds/megajump to kill time. when we need to jot down notes and have no paper and pen, there’s our lovely phone. when we need to google for something, we don’t need to look for a computer anymore. especially if you are a facebook maniac, you can check on it 24/7. need me to explain more?

and now, the BEST PART!

Magic. A Moment of Childlike Wonder.

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

Konichiwa.

do you believe in Magic? yes? no? dunno?

some of you MIGHT have BELIEVED in magic as a child. but most of us always grow up to find it to be only a trick. but sometimes, you’d only SAY that. you’d have to experience it, and I AM VERY SURE YOU’D TURN INTO A CHILD INSTANTLY! =P. still don’t believe in magic? mm.

well, as for me, I do. even if it’s the magician himself telling me that it is just an illusion, I’d still believe in magic. who knows? maybe one day magic would save people? — like David Blaine, turning a cup of hot coffee into a cup of coins. haha.

other than David Blaine, there was the other Davids, David Copperfield, and then, there was the awesome David Lai from MALAYSIA! and now, there’s a new Magician in Town. his name? it is the most special name I’ve ever heard. and it’s..

ZLWIN.

he told me it is because his brothers name is Alwin. so one A and the other shall be Z. I had always wondered if it was a joke, but it seemed true! I met Zlwin quite some time ago and I still remembered that our first meeting was me being invited to join him party alongside with him working. his work? it’s really special. all he has to do is to AMAZE the crowd. and in my opinion? magic NEVER fails to amaze people. it had always keep my jaw hanging from my mouth.

the night I witnessed Zlwin’s MAGIC!

so now you might think

what? magic tricks is it?

no.

ever heard of a mentalist? somebody bending fork and spoons just by LOOKING at it?

mentalism. no it doesn’t mean he has mental problem. haha.

if no, it’s okay. there’s a video below and it will explain to you exactly what Zlwin does. and it is always so magical.

click here or here to view my other posts of Zlwin =).

now enjoy the video. =D.

Reaching Haneda Airport at Night.

Monday, March 14th, 2011

Hi. I am really thankful that I am back from Japan. first, it was the earthquake, then, the nuclear plant leaks.

my friends who’s still in Japan, I really hope they could make it home safe as soon as possible. I was one step late in knowing about my coll’s student exchange program to Tokyo and I thought I was unlucky. but now, I think the otherwise. my friends who are now there for the program had to cut short the program and come back a week earlier. and even so, much fear have been gained from their trip. now, the nuclear leaks, I wonder if it’s even safe to be outdoors even for a while.

people of all races and beliefs, please pray for Japan. it was such a peaceful and beautiful country, especially when the sakura season is so near. the homeless must be cold. let’s pray for those who are stranded to be found, that Japan will regain their strength.

***************************************************************************

IMG_4185

the Sunset on the plane.

IMG_4201

upon exiting immigration, you’d be greeted with Arashi’s handsome boys. errr. but honestly, hot guys are everywhere in Tokyo, and most of them look as good or even better. and to my surprise, most of them are pretty tall! (I’ve always had the mindset that Japanese guys are short. =X.)

IMG_4202

OKAY, so one of the worstttt things you’d have to worry about when you reach Haneda Airport so late at night is TRANSPORT. taxi’s are madness. it takes 8000yen to get to Shibuya. and the thing is, Haneda is not that far from the city, really.

SO, the best way is the train, and it only costs 400yen to get to stops like Shinagawa. and now your problem would be, landing late. this is no problem because the train operates until slightly before 1 (JR Line). the other lines closes around 12pm. best is that you stay at areas reachable by the JR line to be safe.

if you’re taking an AirAsia flight to Tokyo, you’d probably land at 10:30pm and you’d get your luggage and get out of the immigration at 11pm. Haneda airport is very efficient, so there’s no waits for immigration as there are many counters.

as soon as you get out, get to the train station ( right in front. if you’re not sure, ask anybody for directions, best if its the guards, or the people at the tourism info center, they speak wonderful english and everyone is very willing to help!) buy your tickets, and if you have luggages, it’s best to take the elevator. =).

IMG_4218

they are everywhere, in most major stations.

IMG_4208 copy

the funniest thing about their subway is the SIZE of the tickets. it’s so tiny. so so so tiny I thought it was a receipt at first and it took me a few seconds to finally realize that they ARE tickets. and you buy your tickets according to the price. you don’t get to choose your location on the machine. so ask the people at the information desks if there’s no english railway maps, tell them your destination and ask them how much will it be. again, they are very willing to help.

IMG_4210

but I was pretty lucky, I didn’t have to go through all the fuss of asking people around on the first day (taking the subway the first time in Japan is pretty confusing, gets better the next day.) I met nice Malaysians on the plane who are very familiar with Japan to help me out =D.

IMG_4233

on my way walking to my hotel, I saw this. do you know what this is?

AUTO PARKING! and these are so normal to them, you can see it everywhereee.

IMG_4234

and not to forget, vending machines. EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

IMG_4250

the rooms are really small in Japan but they made use of every corner and you’d not feel uncomfortable living in them.

always check out where your hotel is through google maps and make your own little map to get to your destination from the station you’d end up at. I made mine by counting the number of crossroads. silly but very effective.

back from Tokyo!

Sunday, March 6th, 2011

oh gosh, I hadn’t been blogging for so long. but I am not dead. it is just that I have been working and preparing for my Tokyo trip. I was lucky enough to grab those really cheap tickets to Tokyo via AirAsia. I am always very thankful that there’s AirAsia because without it I don’t think I will ever dream of going to the most expensive city in the world. this is probably the longest flight I’ve been on. even though I tried sleeping on the plane, each time I doze off I knock myself on the wall and I’d wake up. causing myself to rest for two continuous days after I came back. and actually, I am still dog tired right now.

in this trip, I took a total of around 3k pictures. it was lesser compared to my Korea trip as it was raining throughout 50% of my trip. when it rains, taking pictures become very very tough.

for this post, I’d like to introduce you andriod or iphone users PUDDING CAMERA. just search for it on the market or google their website. it’s a korean application and is currently free for all! BANZAI TO THE CREATOR!

* all pictures in this post are taken through pudding camera with my htc desire hd.

20110301134138

Kamakura. slightly further away. train tickets costs about RM30 one way to come here. beautiful place.

20110301173143

20110302112257

disneysea. it is beautiful. but the rides are not worth the wait.

20110302221816

kimchi inspired beef rice bowl. my absolute favourite. only 280yen. cheaper than a cone of ice cream! ice cream = 300yen.

20110301164659

I think I’d absolutely fall for a Jap if I ever live there. imagine a guy giving you such sweet flowers. dies.

20110303001300

these are in most toilets in Japan. in some malls, there’s even music and heater. the water is warm, by the way.

warm water hitting my butt, it was the first time. I was shocked. =X.

20110302235632

hello. this is my yukata night gown. looks more like a robe to me hahaha.

these are all previews, will write more in depth about every place in the coming posts!

crap, now I’m stuck with my travel posts because nothing is really going on with my life. hahah. but travelling is my passion now =D.
