Directions to Nami.

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Nami Island 나미섬 was one place I didn’t exactly plan to go. it was where Winter Sonata was filmed, and it is VERY FAR AWAY from the city. it takes approximately TWO HOURS just to get there. but I met some nice people at our guest house and they said it was BEAUTIFUL. convinced by them, we decided to go there on the second day as some major spots are closed on Tuesdays.

just so you know, it is not just an island which were the film set of a drama. but it was a really artistic place, it was beyond what pictures can tell. like a huge art playground; with loads of love. it’ll take away at least half of your day. it’ll be around 6-7pm when you’re back in Seoul. =). definitely worth a visit. especially if you’re there on autumn or winter– like how the movie is named.

also, make this a MUST VISIT SPOT if you’re there with your lover. *winks*.

IMG_9811

a completely irrelevant picture. the dog was seemingly sleeping. you can see it breathe. but only after the 2nd time seeing it I knew it was fake. PFFT.

IMG_9812

when 2am first came out,  I thought to myself, okay, only group that has no cute guys. but they are the type that, the more you look, the cuter they become. either that of they magically transformed! they are SUPERBLY HOT =D. especially Seulong <3.

DIRECTION 1 : take the subway to Seongsu 성수 and look for DongSeoul 동서울 Bus Station.

IMG_9823

this is how DongSeoul looks like from the outside. only a minute walk away from the subway station. just keep asking around if you’re not sure where it is. Koreans are friendly.

IMG_9826

TADA! those bus exits which you’d see in most K-Dramas whenever a person want to leave and you’d see their “girlfriend/boyfriend” running through these doors looking for the bus their partner is on.

initially I thought your ticket would be checked upon these doors pfft. but I was wrong they only check it on the bus.

IMG_9825 copy

the buses. there is like 40 stops. this place is like, THE PLACE you’d come if you wanna get out of Seoul. it takes you to almost everywhere.

IMG_9840 copy

Korea have great sausages. they don’t make you feel like there’s a plastic wrapping the minced meat inside. and the Ghana on the left is my favourite Ghana chocolate! <3. MUST TRY.

IMG_9843

ALWAYS try their drinks. you’d find treasures. like that pink bottle inside, it’s a peach flavoured mineral water. it costs 1000won for one. might be a little too pricey for a small bottle like that, but it tastes AMAZING. it is addictive. and those banana milk are great too. <3.

IMG_9845

Korean wheat tea. Peter said it’s good for the skin. =O.

IMG_9833

ohai?

the thing about Korean fashion I’ve noticed throughout my trip is, most young Koreans wear dark cold colours. like black, blue.. but the older ones tend to wear shocking colours like PINK, YELLOW. and light colours are.. rare. during winter that is.

IMG_9848 copy

DIRECTION 2 : at DongSeoul 동서울, buy a ticket which heads to Chuncheon 춘천. costs about 7000won and this bus ride is about 2 hours long. you can sleep if you want to.

IMG_9822

but I spent my two hours looking out of the window, enjoying the beautiful autumn scenery. <3.

IMG_9849

our Penang bridge was Korean made too, you know? (not too sure if they did the whole thing, but they were involved!)

IMG_9885

okay, going to Nami, you’d pass by a lot of remoted areas. but they are beautiful. nothing like Seoul.

IMG_9870

their roads are always so… new looking. WHYY!!!

IMG_9899

something you’d see from a K-drama? =D.

houses there just look so… peaceful. I cannot imagine what will happen if the Koreas were to have a war.

IMG_9886

the bus will drop you at the Chuncheon bus station and you’d better look for a cab. it’s cheap, don’t worry, the place to take a ferry to Nami  is very near. very very near.

so yeah, DIRECTION 3 : look for a cab! and ask for Nami Island/ Nami seom나미섬.

IMG_9922

tada! we’re here! =D.

IMG_9921

there’s a row of shops on the left. just in case if you are hungry, there’s plenty of food!

IMG_9923

the counters to buy the ferry tickets. it’s around 8000won. it’s a bit expensive for such a short distance. but oh well, its a tourist spot. =P.

IMG_9906 copy

well, THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE way to get to Nami. it’s by “flying” there via flying fox. haha but this will cost you 40,000won. =P.

IMG_9910

okay now guess what is!!

no, they’re not building anything there

you’ve guessed it haven’t you?

YES, BUNGEE JUMPING! how can they have flying fox without bungee jumping right? heh.

IMG_9926

there’s a little map behind the tickets. stating those famous touristy spots. but in my opinion, JUST WALK AROUND THE WHOLE PLACE!

but before getting there, we got HUNGRY. so, street food it is!

IMG_9933

YUMMY.

IMG_9930

THESE ARE THE BEST CHICKEN I’VE EVER HAD. BEST. CHICKEN.

IMG_9928

sausages. 2000 for one?

IMG_9929

WAFFLES!!

IMG_9940

waffles with cream and apple jam stuffing. and SERIOUSLY, I am salivating just thinking about it. ohnyumnyum.

one thing about street food. they are expensive. maybe eating one or two is ALRIGHT. but treating them as lunch? we spent 30,000won here. approximately RM90. JUST ON STREET FOOD! imagine eating RM90 worth of Pasar Malam food. @@. but these are really good. we had Churros too! <3.

IMG_9915

those beautiful Nami scenery next!

Suwon.

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

sadly, I didn’t visit the Suwon Fortress. but lucky for that too because according to our young guest house mate, she told us it is boring for young people. =(. anyways, James and his friends lives there so they invited us over for dinner. I really wanted to see how other cities look like too =D.

IMG_9741 copy

Peter calls it the more adult No Rae Bang. no rae bang (노래방) = karaoke in Korean. =D.

IMG_9742

the streets of Suwon! it’s pretty. very colourful. <3. it makes the whole place look.. ALIVE.

IMG_9778

despite Korea being REALLY REALLY clean. these are the rare finds I found that had to do with the word litter. they do not stick the whole piece of advertisement on the car (thank goodness) instead, they put a small piece of cello tape and tape it on top. I didn’t see this in Seoul though. it is said that there are security cameras in every street in Seoul (IT IS TRUE. anybody who steals there, is literally dumb). not sure about other places.

IMG_9745 copy

tada! the restaurant. was hungry, hence the shaky hands =P. restaurants there are pretty. maybe because I didn’t grow up with wooden houses, I find wooden houses really pretty @_@. as you know, the grass is always greener on the OTHER side.

IMG_9750

SAMGYUPSAL. ever seen such FAT, PERFECT PORK? it was one of ze best samgyupsal (three layer meat)! only found in KOREAAAA. haha.

IMG_9752 copy

yum yum. you can fry your kimchi and vegetables t00! that is how koreans eat it at least. they wrap cabbage kimchi with lettuce. ahhahaa. surprisingly delicious. with RICE in it too! =D.

IMG_9771 copy

and one thing about chopsticks in Korea is that, they do not put it on top of a bowl. =D. just so you know. some dining etiquette you should learn before getting there =D. you know, table manners are very important. (and try not to use both chopsticks and spoon at the same time too? ^^)

IMG_9772

the charity boy I met in Central, Hong Kong. haha.

IMG_9780

I am the only Malaysian there! =D! Korean people are friendly, trust me. wipe away all your thoughts of rude Korean aunties already! (although you might still find them in certain markets)

IMG_9781

PLENTY OF NICHKHUN STICKERS THIS BIG ON SUWON’S STREET! <3.

he makes ice cream look even more delicious <3 <3 <3.

IMG_9797

you will see these dividers very often on the subway’s escalator. those not in rush, please stand on the right. =D.

IMG_9784 copy

one whole row of young and old Koreans, all on their handphones. every single one of them. their handphone have TV signals. don’t play play.

super advanced in electronics. they have this new phone that can type as you speak. AWESOME.

IMG_9799

more plastic surgery posters in the subway along the escalator. took this in Myeong Dong I think?

IMG_9782 copy

it shows you HOW FAR the train is from the station. usually one train takes about 2 minutes to arrive. but they had this so that the people could prepare themselves for the train. “how far is the train?” is what I always think about (and I bet most Malaysians do) while waiting for the snail KTM to come here.

and is that auntie on the right GREEN? WHYY? well, she errr matches the line’s colour.

IMG_9790 copy

AWESOME AWESOME COMMERCIALS HAHAHA. poster for Hello Ghost. a new movie in Korea. =D.

OK NAMI ISLAND NEXT. you won’t want to miss that one. heh.

T-Express; The World #1.

Saturday, December 18th, 2010

IMG_9615

the T-Express is the NUMBER ONE most thrilling roller coaster IN THE WORLD.

NUMBER THREE highest.

it is THREE MINUTES long.

there are no loops, it is all made out of wood. when I was at the first drop, I looked down to see how steep it was. and guess what? I couldn’t see it.

a little bit of our reaction before riding it.

P1030988

they all looked excited and scared. they must have not been on it for a longgg time. haha. but I was already told that it’s very good before I went to Korea by Sung Jin.

P1030986

James kept asking me if I were scared instead. he insisted that he wasn’t afraid of it.

P1030984 copy

the FIRST TIMER!! Peter told me it’ll be fun. but on the other hand, his face is all white, looking at the height, the speed and the almost 90 degrees drop. 77 degree’s actually. it’s the WORLD’S STEEPEST WOODEN ROLLER COASTER. =D.

P10309859jpg

I look all fine. but my heart was pumping hard. well, it WAS my first time.

P1030996

the photo spot.

P1030994

James went through my first T-Express with me. it was the SCARIEST thing I’ve EVER sat on. the first time was mad. I could barely even sit up straight because it is just too steep. and I ended up closing my eyes most of the time. when I came down from the roller coaster, my legs were all shivering I am still shocked by how scary it was.

but the SECOND TIME, I sat with Peter who have challenged me to sit IN FRONT. as in, the MOST front. I opened my eyes throughout the ride and I don’t know why, I enjoyed it very very much! it is actually less scary compared to closing my eyes. or maybe it is just because it is my second time, I know when to PREPARE for the scary bits.

P1030995

just so you know, you’re not allowed to wear any scarfs, hats, hairbands nor bring your camera along during the ride. it’s just to scary to hold on to your stuff. if you have long hair, you’d find your hair flying everywhere. and the MC there was so funny, he said “it’s okay, this is not scary.. it is just 56meters high. and I bet your boyfriend are telling you he will protect you but just so you know, he can’t!”

the staff there was very nice as well haha he took my camera from my hands and I thought he wanted to confiscate it T_T. but he helped us take a picture! =D.

Everland have superb customer service.

there are a few trains but it is absolutely safe to keep anything valuable in those boxes because everytime another train stops, the boxes will be automatically locked and another box will open. =D.

if I have to rate this ride based on 10. I’d give it a 20.

DON’T BE A CHICKEN AND JUST GET ON THIS RIDE IF YOU’RE IN EVERLAND!

Everland Part 2.

IMG_9475 copy

I think what is so different about Korean guys with other Asian guys is that, most of them have REALLY HIGH NOSES. and according to Peter, most girl’s high nose are fake. ahaha.

so not fair.

and stop. just TAKE A LOOK at Jin Young’s face; the guy in red. looking familiar?

he looks ALMOST THE SAME with Oh Ji Ho!

IMG_9484

we’re supposed to do.. funny faces. but whatever it is, LOOK BEHIND! super cute architecture ^^. (supposed to be Aesop’s Village.) it’s a land for the kids. filled with kids ride.

IMG_9497 copy

walking down the lane, you’d see this, Flume Ride. it is actually not very different compared with any other boat ride. plus it was freezing cold and we didn’t want to get wet!

IMG_9500

something like a maze. didn’t want to get in cause I was in heels T_T. not too exciting for me though, but I will definitely want to try this the next time I’m there.

IMG_9503 copy

so we head to the next ride, the BUMPER CAR!! well yes, of course the bumper car is the same everywhere. but it is never the same when you’re with a group of fun and playful people heh.

IMG_9512

you get what I mean?

IMG_9614

I’ve had ALWAYS wanted to have a ride on those things, those for people usually going up the hill to prepare to ski down. it always looked pretty exciting for me as it is open air =X. and see those European buildings? well, that is because we’re heading towards the European town! =D.

IMG_9502 copy

my another favourite shot. it was so pretty. though I’ve always though that the Ferris Wheel is a waste of time. I’d go on it if I want to waste some time =P.

IMG_9536 copy

the Parade. it was alright. all the parades look the same but this one isn’t exactly very interesting. maybe because none of the characters were familiar to me.

IMG_9555

except this one. HAHAHAHA the pirated Mickey ehhehe. =P. but this one looks cutely evil. =X.

but the clothes are so Korean!! <3. pink and blue whee!

IMG_9538 copy

it’s actually he same picture. but with Yee Hou’s AMAZING speedlight. but the speedlight is too weird to put on in broad daylight U_U everyone was looking like as if my mom’s some pro photographer ahahha. adding a speedlight MAKES A VERY BIG DIFFERENCE.

IMG_9546 copy

rare angle! can you see those elfs!! or clowns @@. have always assumed guys in weird tights are elfs. hmm. okay I can NOT imagine Orlando Bloom with tights.

(HAHAHA this is so funny. I typed “Orlando Bloomwood” at first and then I thought it sounded weird and then I realized, I’ve been reading too much of Sophie Kinsella’s Shopaholic, where the main character is Rebecca Bloomwood. silly, silly me. I found that I was wrong through google. I googled “Orlando Bloomwood”.)

IMG_9562

the most beautiful errr, sculpture car? from all of it! =D.

IMG_9570 copy

I was expecting Koreans, since it is like the Disneyland in Korea. but they were all ang mohs(whites).

but I would have to say, Everland is just as good as Disneyland. or even better, in term of rides and certain stuff like.. space. I am just comparing with HK’s Disneyland. =D.

IMG_9581

SNOW!!! foam but still.. SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_9567 copy

=D. *points* there’s T-Express. that tall wooden thingy.

IMG_9560

they got hungry and had some Bulgogi hot dogs. there were even Bulgogi HAMBURGURS in McD and Burger King. didn’t have time to try! was busy devouring the taste of real Korean Korean food that I didn’t have time for the fusions! T_T. but these Bulgogi dogs tastes damn good. Bulgogi are like, perfectly fitted with the taste of soft fragrant bread!

those “the north face” bubble jackets look so…. WARM! and it’s the most trendy thing in Korea among students now. get on the street, you’d see EVERYBODY wearing it.

IMG_9605

being silly in a random shop.

Rudolph’s eyes suddenly.. shrink. haha. =P.

and, skinny jeans is the in thing for guys in Korea ever since ShiNee wore it. any skinny jeans for you, Malaysian guys? but I am still not getting used to it.

IMG_9606

and then they put it on me.

but James, the fashionista (Koreans call all people who dresses up fashionably Fashionista’s.) found one that matches my clothes. and hair. pfft.

IMG_9609 copy

rawr!

I mean,

meow.

IMG_9478 copy

Jin and Chul. Korean names always clash ahaha. like Jin Young and Sung Jin both have Jin in their name and how Peter and James have the same Hwan as their last name. okay, Chul is the most unique one here HAHAH. at first I couldn’t catch his name and they told me to call him “Metal” because Chul in Korean means Metal. haha!

IMG_9586 copy

guys go for what guys go for. guns. and both of them later collaborated in a basketball game and won a star plushy for me =D.

IMG_9588 copy

look at how happy guys are with arcade games. I bet most girls didn’t understand why hehe.

just so you know, there are PuriKura (sticker photos) there too, but it looks.. not very nice. the best ones I had was in HK Times Square =D.

IMG_9630 copy

I still couldn’t get enough of those cutesy hi and byes all the staff did. at the same time they looked like they were shaking their hands because it was cold. but Everland was nice, they had heaters for all booths =D.

IMG_9620

okay, now, let’s…….

IMG_9623 copy

SEE SOME ANIMALS!

IMG_9640

heading towards the Animal land.

IMG_9628 copy

that’s the petting zoo behind =D. the guys INSIST on not going there because they think it is sissy. hmph. Korean male ego. haha but there were cute animals like rabbits, sheeps and.. goats? anyway, it was getting dark and I wanted to try on the T-Express before the weather starts to change (it might rain!) and after two round of T-Express it was already 5pm. and at 5pm, it’s pitch black. COME DURING SPRING OR SUMMER. PLEASE.

but I really regretted because it didn’t rain and when I came back here there were no more sea lion and penguin shows and I couldn’t see the Polar bear that I’ve came here for! T_______T. I’ve only seen a Polar Bear in S’pore ONCE and I was just in time before the place closes pfft. so the tank where the bear was was pretty dark. I have no fate with my favourite bear. there are monkeys and apes too! =D. (not interested in that one because there are plenty here. HAHAHA.)

but I still think that I was lucky.

I caught the LAST BUS leaving for that AMAZING safari ride. we were the LAST people to get on it. RIGHT BEFORE IT LEAVES! we were RUNNING to it. the tour guide said he’ll bring us around for a longer time since we’re the last group. haha, lucky a not?

IMG_9670

the tallest giraffe in the WORLD! =D. from Africa yo, don’t play play, was surprised that it could survive in such a cold weather.

IMG_9657 copy

a cohort of zebra!

you should already know what I feel for ZEBRAS. I love wearing their.. patterns. OF COURSE I won’t wear it if it’s real skin! I don’t support wearing fur. hmph.

IMG_9650

there were more than one Tiger. they’re running all around. and it was.. PITCH BLACK! RAWR.

IMG_9686

lions. a heap of them!

IMG_9681 copy

the graceful white tiger. there were many of them too! but as you know, it was dark and the bus is moving T_T. but it was not bad it stopped very long for us at some spots. =D.

IMG_9684 copy

this is what they called the Liger. a breed of both Lion and Tiger. it’s really awesome because it looks like a lion with fading tiger stripes.

IMG_9698

I know I’m repeating this but there were MANY BEARS! walking all around. they were so huge and so cute zomg. and because we were sitting behind.. it’s hard to take their pictures T_T. but these GOMS (bears) UNDERSTAND KOREAN. that korean guy told him to sit! and he sits. and then he throw food to him making some funny cheesy sound ahhaha.

IMG_9719 copy

what they sell there. they are like divided into sections. very cute.

IMG_9713+

I didn’t see a leopard. I wonder where it is pfft I must have missed it! but I heard the Leopard killed a Lion there. maybe they kept it for a while so that the Leopard won’t kill anymore Lions. haha.

this hat is ridiculously cute. they are known as the “jappy hat” to my family and the “garbage man’s hat” to my friends in school. why they call it that? well, I bet you’ve seen many Japs in these hats. and I also bet you can imagine a garbage collector wearing it. >_<”. it is weird how these hats can match almost anybody. =P.  and now, it looks like a golfers hat. pfft.

IMG_9724

NYAHAHAHAHA WE WENT ON THE SKI CABLE CAR! YAYS! I was horribly afraid that I might drop my camera.

IMG_9728

at least I still managed to camwhore hehe. it was COLD and you’d have to sit statically there to prevent it from shaking too much. and that makes you get colder. the ride is pretty long so it’s the best time to relax, have a good chat and enjoy the view.

my tip is : PUT YOUR HANDS IN YOUR POCKETS. ALL THE TIME!

and when we head up. we headed for a roller coaster with MANY MANY LOOPS. 3 obvious loops. it was.. not worth it. you’d probably have to wait in line for that one too but it’s more or less a minute long. not worth the wait. I didn’t feel ANY EXCITEMENT. =X. I guess it was because I rode on the T-Express before riding on this one. so if you want to enjoy other rides, PLEASE RIDE ON T-EXPRESS THE LAST! =D. my Korean friends suggested this too.

IMG_9729 copy

Double Rock Spin. this is like, the DNA mixer. except it’s doesn’t make you feel like puking. but at least it’s fun =P. there were only one more thriller we missed as they told me that was very cold as they.. swing you around while you’d be sitting in a fan-like cage. which means, you’d be going 180degrees too. =D. at high speed. in the air high above.

IMG_9733

you’d just have to love Everland at night. it is.. magical.

I’m almost ending my post. but I’ll have ONE more post on the T-EXPRESS TOMORROW! because there is just too much to write!

haha I bet you were wondering where the T-Express pictures are. =P. wait up!

Everland Part 1.

Monday, December 13th, 2010

IMG_9371 copy

SEE! I WAS THIS HAPPY! chokes. well, Everland is really fun. I reckon you go to Everland for two days back to back. =D. you won’t finish everything in just one day. too much to see!

IMG_9370 copy

this building is really really nice, it gives some fairy tale feeling, but I didn’t go into it. like I’ve said, I didn’t have enough time T_T.

IMG_9369 copy

ding dong bells! =D. no doubt Everland is like a Korean Disneyland. but with T-express, it beats Disneyland (at least the one in HK, which I went on 2pm and finished the whole place just in time.)

IMG_9382

lovely christmas plants.

IMG_9379

I dragged my mom near it and I told her “MOMMY YOU SEE THEY PLANTED REAL ONES!!!” because it was attached to the ground. my mom loves flowers a lot and had some mini business in it last time and she said it’s fake but I kept insisting that it is real. until I touched it. T_____________T. it looked so real!

IMG_9413 copy

anyways, there are these cute couples in dramatic costumes all around for you to ask a picture with. =D. and they are usually very good looking <3.

IMG_9424 copy

everywhere. near the entrance.

IMG_9405 copy

as you walk deeper, you’d see this magical tree. =D. super love this tree.

IMG_9389 copy

it’s just so magical U_U. look at those light balls!

IMG_9391 copy

I have a thing for Korean school uniforms. they are so beautiful. have always wanted to wear them but too bad, Malaysian school uniform is… soo… ew. so as soon as I saw these two pretty Korean girls in school uniform (should be the same age as me because they have 50% discount for people my age after their major exam!) I asked them for a picture and they were so friendly <3.

IMG_9410

the most expensive sausages I’ve ever eaten in my life. =X. RM12 for one. haha. the thinner one is RM9 =D. but its yummy.

IMG_9395 copy

Santa and errr, Everland characters. unknown. they should look for a fatter Santa haha.

IMG_9427 copy

yummy =D.

IMG_9400

bald trees and the beautiful autumn sky!

IMG_9385 copy

this reminds me of Aladin. does it reminds you of it?

IMG_9432 copy

finally after half an hour of camwhoring and walking around the entrance, my friends came =D!

IMG_9435

yes they are all good looking Korean guys hahaha. all my age. =D.

IMG_9441 copy

I would have to say, these two people are one of the reason why I enjoyed Everland so much xD.

IMG_9443 copy

his name is James. I met him in Central, Hong Kong, when he was doing some charity thing. @@. but we ended up becoming friends! and it was pure coincidence that we were the same age hahha.

they told me that we wouldn’t have enough time so we would have to CHOOSE games to ride. and they recommended some “starters” which were really fun.

IMG_9451

lining up. the queue wasn’t very bad on that Monday, we didn’t have to wait much.

IMG_9444

they shocked me by telling me this is “nothing”. it’s just the “warm up” game. but I have to say, it looks scarier than it is.

IMG_9450 copy

here. it looks BLOODY scary. but it is quite alright. make you go a LITTLE dizzy. =D.

and the second game?

IMG_9458 copy

the Viking. it is amazing how each and every entrance of their games are so nice. it is like, real artistic.

IMG_9464 copy

they even had cow-boy like games to go along with it =D.

I salute their designers.

IMG_9463

group picture! =D.

IMG_9459 copy

^^v. now, don’t we look as if we’re at some cowboy town? hahaha.

IMG_9467 copy

if you sit behind, it’ll go up to as high as 90degrees. and I sat behind. it was super exciting! >=D and this is the LARGEST ship I’ve ever sat on. bigger than the one in Ocean Park and Genting! but I advise you not to eat too much before sitting on their rides, because according to James, somebody sat behind and barfed and what happened was everybody in front became the victims of that poor guy’s puke. =X. heh?

more to come!

PS : today, I finally camwhored, was actually taking some pictures to look like this Korean singer (it’s for a contest to win that singer’s autograph ahahhaha, I was bored.) and the unedited version scares people.

JAJANG!

gna

this is the picture that I uploaded on facebook earlier which scared.. pretty much everyone.

my trip to Everland.

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

but because the trip there in the BUS is already so amazing, I’ll be showing you more of what I saw when I was in the bus.

so, if you would like to go to Everland on your own, just take the subway to Gangnam Station (Subway Line No. 2) – Yangjae Station take exit 10, walk approx 350meters up, pass by giordano and then you’ll see Krispy Kreme. the bus station is right in front of Krispy Kreme and get on bus #5002. it’s probably the best and easiest route as it is one of the fastest way to get there (around 40 minutes).

how I got there was, I walked around Gangnam for an hour to have a look at how people there look like (heard that most people there had plastic surgery =X), how the buildings are like and what is there to explore. it isn’t a compulsory thing in a trip, but it is just how I would like to learn more about the difference of people in Gangnam(upper class society) compared to other places. THEN, I took a taxi (costs 2400won as soon as you board, and it will only cost 2400 won for the entire trip if it is near.) and asked the taxi driver to go to the nearest bus stop that goes to Everland.

IMG_9298

the road sign next to the bus stop where I waited for bus #5002.

the destination names are all in Korean, so just look for the bus number. or if you want, Everland is 에버란드 in Korean. I felt it is always important to study a bit of Korean characters if you are going to Korea on your own. but it is quite difficult to read it right away. (took me a year of looking at them to read them at a moderate speed. >_>”) so bring some paper and jot the characters down.

IMG_9300

Seoul is like, the city of art.

IMG_9301

took this because I thought that bear looked like the one on “CoCo Crunch”. but it looked sad here. hmm?

IMG_9303

baldies. but very pretty.

IMG_9316

YAYS!

I’ve never thought bald trees would be so beautiful xD. I was actually pretty disappointed that all the leaves dropped a week before I arrived (AND IT SNOWED 2 DAYS AFTER I LEFT #(*&@@)$)@#$)) but the weather was treating me very well.

IMG_9314

one of my favourite shot from the whole trip. this scene looked very nice to me, but the bus was going fast and my camera was shut. but luckily I moved fast enough to capture this shot =P.

IMG_9308

the reason why all architecture students must visit Seoul.

there are many condominiums like these, and the greatest shock I got was, most of them had advertisements on them. =O. not a bad way to save up on monthly maintenance. =P.

IMG_9324

love those winding roads. very much.

IMG_9325

Korean houses are really beautiful. they all look like what you can find in a fairy tale. *glittery eyes*.

IMG_9320

when you see this sign, you shouldn’t be getting off your seat yet. there’s still a LONG WAY TO GO (5-10minutes perhaps?). the area of Everland is super huge.

IMG_9321

you’d see more winding roads. if you’re going there during mid autumn, you must really open your eyes huge during your ride, some roads are even more beautiful than Nami Island =P.

IMG_9335

finally there!

IMG_9343

lucky that there were still SOME autumn leaves. =P.

IMG_9339

this is where the bus leaves you. and buses in Korea have no stops (it doesn’t matter if your ride is 2-3 hours. there will be NO TOILET STOP. there are no public toilets in the middle of highways.) so please do your business before getting into a bus. but at least Everland prepared public toilets as soon as you step out of your bus =D.

IMG_9340

ahhhhhh, Autumn is indeed the most beautiful season to visit Korea. just not for buying clothes. or shoes.

IMG_9341

JANG!! =D.

IMG_9344

if you’re lost, just follow the locals there. go up the steps and walk a little more and you should be able to see the grand HUGE entrance.

IMG_9361

cuteness dominates in Korea.

IMG_9358

towards the entrance! beautiful isn’t it? Everland is much better for adults compared to Lotte World. I was planning to go to Lotte World at first until some people from the Guest House who went to Lotte the day before told us it was more for kids. but Lotte is much more convenient as it is in the city. =D.

but please note that you must go to Everland as soon as it opens (usually 10am), because it is so big going at 1pm won’t let you finish seeing everything there. I went there at 1.30pm T_T. missed out quite a few. =/. but it is okay! I WILL GO THERE NEXT TIME >=D.

IMG_9356

an nyeong =D.

IMG_9363 copy

the pretty Korean girl at the counter =D.

IMG_9365

most of the employees in Korea have EXCELLENT customer service. they are always smiling and they are like, 24/7 filled with enthusiasm and cuteness.

IMG_9367

I went on a Monday, and the queue for the best ride was about 10minutes only. =D.

make sure not to go on weekends or Fridays, you’d regret it. haha. the price for an adult is 37000won but you can always download the coupons online (from the KTO website) for foreigners which allows you to buy them at 31000 won.

more to come! =D.
