Who SAYS China SUCKS?!
As many might know, I live in China sometimes during the holiday as my dad’s there. Many of my caring friends who did not have a good impression or never went to China before always tells me “be careful, the food there very dirty”. Heck no man, of course there are places that’s clean and dirty right? if you’re on a tour there, the food MIGHT suck. And at certain places, yes I admit the toilet scares. But not like Malaysia don’t have disgusting toilets too right? FYI, at some places like in Li Jiang, the toilets even have TV in it. and is also absolutely clean. =D. and their food, gosh, especially their ethnic Chinese food. It’s heavenly. I totally love their SiChuan food. Believe me, although there isn’t any nasi lemak or char kuey teow. You’ll love the food there. Besides, super fresh Japanese buffet at only around RM60? totally worth it. THEN, there’s people who say that their plates etc are dirty. DO YOU SEE HOW they store the plates? for the roadside ones, don’t say la.. But for small restaurants even, they put their plates into a refrigerator like germs-killing machine. Super clean ok?
Some people always say ” huh? this thing is made from china ar? sure very lau ya “. RIGHT.. very VERY NOT true. Most good stuff is made there too. Most of the stuff we have here IS from China. For example, you and your very lau ya friends each open a cake shop. Your cake is high-quality, very fine. THEIRS? makes people go to the toilet 3 days 3 night after having it. THEN, your area’s cake is to be told dirty. DO YOU LIKE IT? no. =). It’s the same. But of course, cheap trips there are not advisable. You might even end up eating some lau ya food and going to the nice places for a short while when you spend most of your time at some random factories buying stuff so that the tour can earn back their money. You want quality? PAY for it.
So far I’ve only been to a few places, spends most of my time in Quan Zhou, a small town in the Fujian Province. But I can tell you, it don’t suck at all, besides, it rocks too! Imagine all the shopping in a quite ancient-style kinda road during winter. Their fashion, certain isn’t nice, but some, really really fashionable. and you can really get stuff that you can’t find in Malaysia. I bought a chio skirt there which costs me around RM20+ and in Malaysia, I saw something very very alike, not as nice in some ‘branded’ shop selling for RM80. Can you believe it? it’s so much more cheaper! (and nicer) and winter around coastal areas are only around 10-20 degrees. Natural air cond, so nice! and there is this very very delicious food called “Niu Pai” means er.. Mutton Ribs? Well it is only sold in Quan Zhou, it’s so delicious seriously I don’t know why is it only sold there, and there is a few type of choices too. Ordering almost everything on the menu for 3 person, a meal that makes you feel incredibly full only costs RMB 42. which means, RM 20+! Cheap, delicious, wonderful. Talking about it makes my mouth watery. But only one thing I hate about being there for too long, especially when I can’t really speak mandarin. super lonely.
And to you bananas out there! who say banana then can don’t like China?! you like Japan or not? love it right? =D

Sue - o.0 which part is ur dad working at?? well, not only the mah jong table is chio, even the clothings too! all those chio clothings for only 50-150rmb. in Msia, I think 1 quite nice looking shirt already cost 80+ usually the nice ones are >100. but 1 bad thing, if you go there, sure fat! every time i come back gaining 5kgs. THE FOOD IS SO NICE! can’t resist taking MORE as I am not living in China for long.
Patrick! those are the olden days one lah! >_< many places isnt like that edy, y take the worst to compare? if you go to those ulu places sure no door lo.. well, in Malaysia I’ve been to toilet that needs to PAY and yet it looks like a haunted toilet unallowing you to lock the door or flush the toilet. but why let places like that ruin the impression of Msia’s toilet rite? we also have the half a million toilet in BB walk ok! =D

Well, I lived in China too, and I’ve been to six Chinese cities now. At this time, I’m in Shanghai. And guess what? It’s just as dirty and smelly as all the other cities: Jiangying, Wuxi, Suzhou, Taizhou, and Shenyang.
I recall walking into different public washrooms in a variety of places and being literally overwhelmed by the stench that greeted me. Now, that’s not to say that a bathroom shouldn’t stink somewhat, especially after someone has just finished doin’ their duty, but I’ve never encountered the overpowering stink anywhere else in the world such as that found in the average Chinese bathroom. My question is this: Why don’t you guys clean those bathrooms and use something called *disinfectant*? I’m not trying to be rude here, but I’ve experienced this too many times to ignore this fact. I also remember walking into a public bus terminal bathroom in Wuxi only to see the most grotesque sight I’ve ever seen. There were half-high stalls which one could easily see the occupants taking a dump, piss, or whatever. That wouldn’t have been so bad only there were also a fair number of C-people doing their business outside of the stalls in plain sight. In addtion to this, one could clearly see the logs of feces and the rivers of piss everywhere in that bathroom, and that’s nothing to say of the stink there. OMG, I can’t get the image out of my mind!
Oh, and as for the food, it’s OK so long as you go to a larger more expensive restaurant which caters to foreign visitors. Otherwise, you may be eating stuff made by the hands of one of those bathroom dwellers like I had seen in Wuxi! >_< Bon appetit!

How do you explain the animals you kill - skinning them alive for thier fur? Is this civilized China? If so then you have a long way to go to get out of the dark ages… animals are alive too… how would you like if I decided you were an inferior species and cut the skin off your body while you watched? What if I did that to your little brother or sister? Defensless creatures untrusted to the care of man and this is what your despicable people do to them… for fur… I don’t care who your God is… he surely didn’t intend for you to torture and beat defensless animals… then peel the skin from thier bodies while they try to escape weakly kicking and panting… terrified about what is happeneing to them… not understanding what they did to deserve being disgustingly mutilated by some dumbass that has no frigging clue about the pain and fear that he is causing… I wish I could return the favor… if I could push the button I would… just to save one more animal from this fate.

Jester, I agree with everything you said. The Chinese peope are CRUEL, DISGUSTING, and SELFISH. The cruelty to animals is appalling. Would it be that hard to kill an animal outright and humanely if you are going to skin it? You make me puke. You are an ignorant people that is centuries behind the times. Modern my ass. AND you rape the oceans, driving everything from seahorses to sharks to the brink of extinction. And on the land, no mammal up to and including bears and tigers are safe from your predations. You are the world’s worst environmental citizen. I wish someone would unleash smallpox in China and rid this world of your entire population.

wow, loads of long comments here. OKAY..
Sue - I think we both love China for the same reason =P. and the food is always soooooooooo delicious. <3. not only you, I gain loads of weight too when I’m there! =X.
Ray - yeaps. ^^ v. must agree to that
Jester - I’m not from China and I DON’T KILL animals. why do you say it in the form like I am some kind of animal hunter? I am very against people who uses animal skin. THANK YOU.
Pilatunes - Chinese people? total racism. what if you are born as a Chinese yourself? AND I DON’T FRIGGIN SKIN ANIMALS OK! I don’t eat seahorses. ugh. I only eat chicken and beef and er, pork? I bet you eat them too.
